SublimeDatsun610
i seriously doubted it the first time i couldn't believe it. this only proved that it was right, cuz it was better by .7 mpg Quote Link to comment
Laecaon
Wow! my friends 1.6 diesel non turbo on a fresh rebuild gets 60mpg highway. Quote Link to comment
DRIVEN
WOW! Wonder if it would do even better on some taller, skinnier tires with less rolling resistance. Could you imagine bragging about 90mpg? Love this car! Now, TDI + http://www.acmeadapters.com/store_engine.php + Datsun ____________________________________________ Awesome! Quote Link to comment
SublimeDatsun610
thanks for posting that kit. it is going to turn some gears in my 14 year old sons head that has a 71 Celica. i could imagine a 1z 1.9 turbo in that little Celica. he wants one cuz he sees how far my rabbit goes on fuel and he understands the importance of MPG. DRIVEN
No. Just came across them while researching possible options for my wagon. This engine made my short list. It would be great in an early Celica. Quote Link to comment

fo0manchu
Dang! how are you getting 82mpg's??? I haven't read about any body getting that good of mileage from the little rabbits. Most I've heard is around 55. I would love to get that high with mine? Is the 1.9 motor rated for better mpgs? Quote Link to comment
Laecaon
My friend was getting 60mpg with a fresh rebuild on a NA 1.6 He now has a MK2 1.9T and is still in the 50 range. My cousin has a mk3 with a 1.9T (canada spec), and is right at 50 hwy, about 45 city. My VW friend/mechanic/loves diesels, says 1.9 NA get the best mileage. They just work a little less to make the car go. Quote Link to comment
SublimeDatsun610
the 1.9 is a Great engine. that is why i am putting 1.9 VW diesel in my 61 Willys jeep. Quote Link to comment
