datsunwizard
Looking for some input on tire size for my new Nismo 16 x 7 wheels that I just purchased. I was thinking 215/55/16 or 215/50/16, I would like to stay close to stock diameter (approx. 26"). With the 215/60/14, (approx. 24" diameter) that I have on the truck now the gearing is a little low on the highway. I thought that the 55 or 50 series would be a good compromise. Bleach
http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html factory tire size is 195/80/14 what tires you put on is up to you Quote Link to comment
BEEBANI
Thanks Bleach, that just told me that my speedo is 5.4% faster than what I'm really going. Hard to believe the tires I have now are smaller than stock. Quote Link to comment
84TAVeRT
215-60-16 matches the stock tire diameter... pick a tire :) http://www.discounttiredirect.com/direct/searchTiresBySize.do?sw=false&cs=215&ar=60&rd=16 Quote Link to comment
datsunaholic
I thought the 265/75R16s I had on 16X8s fit really nice... Quote Link to comment
Jester
That's pretty cool. I punched in the stock size (195x80x14) compared to a 235x50x17 and they are DAMN close. HHMMMMMM?????? Jester Quote Link to comment
yello620
I plan to run a 225/50/16. Close to stock diamter, but a littler smaller. About 1/2" in diameter. They will turn 835 times per mile compared to 813 for a stock size tire. Quote Link to comment
pliggity
i'm running 205/50's on 16x7's, and it rubs when i'm fully cranked. i need to roll my fenders up front a bit more and it should be fine. the rears, if i'm driving hard enough, i can stuff the tire up into the side of the bed around corners:eek: i'll go take a quick pic on my phone and try to show it a little bit! *oh yeah! my truck is on 3" blocks in the back and the torsions are cranked down in the front a bit w/out bumpstops. yello620
Dont forget that the rubbing problem of any tire size is greatly affected by the offset of the wheels. Jason Quote Link to comment
