Anyone here ever do this on a Nissan engine? I remember setting em up in auto shop class on a V8 back in the day. Was good for a few extra ponies. Where could I buy shims to do something like this on a KA?

Doesn`t the plug go straight into the top of chamber on a KA like yours?? If so moving plug in and out wont do anything ,plug indexing was used when plug went into chamber at an angle so spark would be completely exposed to piston. But honestly cutting the end off of the ground wire ( the bent part ) then gapping that against the electrode seemed to do just as much,,But now they make plugs that way from the factory.

hmmm... I think I'll stick to factory recommended plugs since the fiasco of throwing a set of E3's into the Cooper. My ECU was showing a Cyl#1 misfire code from running a set of "hot" plugs. Thanks for the reply though.
