Guest DatsuNoob
Anyone here ever do this on a Nissan engine? I remember setting em up in auto shop class on a V8 back in the day. Was good for a few extra ponies. Where could I buy shims to do something like this on a KA? Quote Link to comment
bananahamuck
Doesn`t the plug go straight into the top of chamber on a KA like yours?? If so moving plug in and out wont do anything ,plug indexing was used when plug went into chamber at an angle so spark would be completely exposed to piston. But honestly cutting the end off of the ground wire ( the bent part ) then gapping that against the electrode seemed to do just as much,,But now they make plugs that way from the factory. Wide14u
i haven't seen that done to a nissan motor Quote Link to comment
Guest DatsuNoob
I was more or less curious if it would be beneficial on a KA to face all plugs towards the intake sides of the combustion chambers in the head. Quote Link to comment
Wide14u
i think there is a plug that has a ring at the bottom instead of electrode at the bottom so there is no blocking Quote Link to comment
Guest DatsuNoob
hmmm... I think I'll stick to factory recommended plugs since the fiasco of throwing a set of E3's into the Cooper. My ECU was showing a Cyl#1 misfire code from running a set of "hot" plugs. Thanks for the reply though. Quote Link to comment
