They're tall engines and people have had trouble with the oil pan being too low. A simple search over there should bring up a few threads. Quote Link to comment

mike
You can build a stoker motor by using the rotating assembly out of an older jeep 6 CYL and running the newer 4.0 head and EFI stuff on it... theyre friggin torque monsters. Why dont you just sell/trade the jeep motor for an L28 or RB20 or something? Quote Link to comment
82sunny
shoot! how much do people buy them for? Quote Link to comment
raggmann
Is it a 4.0L or a 258cid? Toi build a 4.6L stroker you basically use the 258 crank in the 4.0L There's a lot more to it than that but those are the basics. That's my plan for my '61 FC170 once I get to it. Quote Link to comment
Master-O-Turbonics
Once upon a time in Japan they built an L35 engine. Monster of an engine. Quote Link to comment

merlin
nissan P40 Gasoline powered, 3956 cc inline six-cylinder with 145 hp (108 kW). got one in my Patrol... torque monster totally unsuitable for a car, but a great motor nonetheless Quote Link to comment
82sunny
ive searched all over and cant find pics of someone doing this swap. does noone do it? is it a waste of time? any pics also Quote Link to comment
justin 620
If no one's done it, why not be the first? Think of it this way, if you try, and fail, you still have the original motor for the car, and just put it back in... Quote Link to comment
datsun723
Took 2 seconds to search on hybrid.... http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php/topic/67448-jeep-40-swap/page__st__20__p__660484__hl__%2Bjeep+%2Bengine+%2Bswap__fromsearch__1#entry660484 http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php/topic/69743-jeep-engine-in-z-car/page__p__658957__hl__%2Bjeep+%2Bengine+%2Bswap__fromsearch__1#entry658957 http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php/topic/64933-its-official-chevy-42ltr-into-a-70-z-car-need-help-guys/page__st__60__p__671360__hl__%2Bjeep+%2Bengine+%2Bswap__fromsearch__1#entry671360 Quote Link to comment
Master-O-Turbonics
what?! did they just bore out am L28? Nope it was an O.S.Giken built engine. either a welded up LD28 crank or more likely one of the custom cranks that are made over in Japan. I have seen L28's up to 91.5mm bore but that is about as far as one can take a GOOD sonic-tested core-shift free L28 block. Look around on Hybrid and you will see mention of it a couple times.
