Swapping rearend

I'm swapping the rear end, unless you have a better idea of how I can go faster than 70MPH without sounding like it's going to blow up.

I want to know what rearend I could wap out for.

Should be same as RL311 roadster no? So H165

If you have the money and time,you can put a rear end out of a 66 -67 mustang (ford 8') and have it narrowed to stock length. Make shure its the 4 lug pattern ,its the same as datsun 4 x 4 1/4.

It worked for my father when he built mine!

thanks guys! I like the mustang rear end idea. But I wanted to go with something newer it.

Some guy told me to put a Nissan 300zx rearend.

thanks guys! I like the mustang rear end idea. But I wanted to go with something newer it.

Some guy told me to put a Nissan 300zx rearend.

But who knows.

 

Need to know what you have now.

 

Likely a solid axle like the later Roadster . The 300zx is an IRS and 10 times more than you need and also a major fabricating job to convert from solid to IRS. Also to lower RPMs you need to change the differential ratio not the whole rear end. This is why I ask what you have in it and what ratio????? .

Datsun 411 came with an H190, 4.11:1 ratio.

Just swap the center section with a 510 wagon center 3.9 (or better yet, 1972 510 wagon 3.7)

 

1500 Roadster: H165

1600 Roadster: H190

as listed below under axles they came with 4.111, 4.375, 4.625 so u need to figure out wat u have and let me know, i have the one in my car and an extra, ill see wat they are and maybe we can work a trade

Roadster diff will work:

 

1600 came w/ 3.90

2000 came w/ 3.70
