Mechanical clutch

Just wondering if any has ventured in that direction. KA backed by 5 spd. 11.5 lb flywheel stock clutch pack. Ive driven a few rigs with a cable clutch. They do give a bit more mmmm real time feeling under foot. Any thoughts. Thanks Mike.

Yea , any action has an equal reaction.... But a cable or mech. linkage does seem to me at least give more feel for engagement. Again the question is . Has any one explored this option?

Mechanical clutch linkages suck. I worked on/replaced a friends cable in her old Volvo. The hydraulic system is/feels so much nicer, and no readjustments for cable stretch.

I had a cable on my 90 sentra, it was ok but sometimes worked itself loose and the clutch would be in a different spot. I like this hydraulic much better.

pascal's law is that pressure exerted anywhere in a confined incompressible fluid is transmitted equally in all directions throughout the fluid such that the pressure ratio (initial difference) remains same

 

meaning - the pressure that leaves the master as you push the pedal is going to be exterted on the clutch release fork via the slave with the same amount of intial pressure - no loss or wasted energy.

 

but izzo is right, to each his own, just seem like wasted effort imo

So the answer then is no one has tried in this direction. I will probably follow suit,after looking at the Sentra set-up. Thanks to all.

Mechanical would be a nightmare of linkages. The clutch arm is on the pass side too. Another problem to face is the body is solid and the tranny moves with engine torque. This can bind the linkage action.
