littlejason
In general, do you think this is a bad idea? Camber plates are T3. Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
the plate holds up the front of the car.more surface area Otherwise you might have 3 washers/bolts on each side hold up the car. Quote Link to comment
littlejason
Yeah, that's pretty much what I'm battling against. I'm gonna go ahead and put it together the normal way for now to get it off the driveway. If anyone else has any thoughts, please chime in, I can change it later. Quote Link to comment
Duke
I have my camber plates installed on the top of the strut tower, but they are different than the t3 plates. I made them myself out of 1/2" aluminum and also made a doubling plate that bolts to the bottom of the strut towers. I have never had any problems with them, however I would be a bit weary of installing the t3 ones on the top. Is there a specific reason you want to install them on top? Quote Link to comment
littlejason
The bearing now sits about an inch or more lower than the 1200 mount. Now I have the camber adjustment I wanted, but my car looks like a gasser. If I went through with getting coil overs, I wouldn't have to think about it... it's more of a temporary solution. RoadRace
i have the Moog plates on the top of the tower. how any plates are to be installed depends 100% on how they were designed to be installed. did you ask T3 what the reccommended installation was? did they come with instructions? littlejason
That's a good point, RoadRace. These were definitely not designed to be installed like this. I'm forgetting about it for now... it was just something I was curious about. Thanks for the input, everyone. Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Most camber plates for 1200 are above the strut tower. But the bearing goes down below. Make sure you are using the right hat: Tons 'o photos of camber plates for B110: strut photo index Quote Link to comment
littlejason
Haha, there's a picture of my car in your photo index (the one with the 4AG) :D Quote Link to comment
Just Joel
I wanted the extra travel with mounting the plate on top of the tower but like you, was worried about strength. So I made plates and welded them into place... Later Joel Quote Link to comment
