chris67
The beds not the like the cab that does look kinda crappy I never noticed, weird. What about a 520 or 521 bed Turns out the 520/521 bed are the same size as the 320 not sure on the mounts but that can be fixed. Quote Link to comment
wayno
Chris, did you get the pictures I sent you of the orange truck? I sent them to show you what it would look like with the luv stepside box even though it was a chevy stepside box modified. What did you think? Not about the front, the back. The trouble with the 520-21 series is it has different side lines, a different side shape. If you look long enough you will find a luv stepside box. I'll look for you to. wayno Quote Link to comment

chris67
I have decided what I am going to do with the bed. I am using the stock bed and will cut her down to a short narrow and use 40's ford/chevy stepside fenders to finish off the look. Quote Link to comment

67 411
Did you ever consider cutting the bottom of the bed and adding some sheet metal then just welding the bottom piece you cut off back. That way you keep it looking stock. I like the lines on the stock bed Quote Link to comment
chris67
what happened to the fold back roof? I will post a photo shortly Quote Link to comment

I like the lines on the stock bed Yep I just dont like the shape of the box it looks like it was a after thought "oh crap we forgot to design a bed for this new truck we will go grap one out of the back and hope nobody notices". If I cut it down to a short narrow it will keep some of the stock style and by adding the stepside fenders give a more rounded look more like the cab. wayno
The datto O lantern orange 320 pickup has reshaped stepside fenders from a chevy truck(47-53), he also cut down the box, I think it looks good except for the halloween theme, but thats just me. wayno Quote Link to comment
chris67
I bought a complete 1957 Chevy step side bed. Believe it or not I will only need to cut about a foot out of the middle and move the fenders forward a bit. (Final mesurement yet to come) Its almost the same height as the stock bed and only a little longer. Anybody want to buy a stock 64 320 bed? Quote Link to comment
chris67
Its just sitting there but you get the idea I have to move the fenders forward still Quote Link to comment
chris67
No love for my 57/64 320:( Quote Link to comment
Aaron Datsun
I will show you love. Once the fenders are moved forward, and the excess is cut out that is going to be a very sweet looking mini truck with a beautiful bed. Now get back out to the garage and finish it so I can see the end results! Quote Link to comment

INDY510
If you only cut it down the middle the back half of the flare is huge and boxy: It took 4 cuts to make it look right..... Quote Link to comment

wayno
Hey Chris, can you get the skirts up to the rocker level so that you have a bottom line that will match the stepside piece, do you have a stepside piece to go in between the fender and cab? wayno Quote Link to comment
