My 1964 320 project

After many years of looking I finally found my dream mini truck (almost) a 1964 datsun 320 i wish it was a NL but it will do. it has A little rust and the grill and bumper will need to be rechromed but other than that its straight and complete and the prior owner install a 1600cc motor in it. As for the plans I have new wheels getting tires installed as I type and the rest will be decided as I go.

How I found her

After some clean up and new stockers (dont worry wayne I am only using your hub cap to see how it looks LOL)

Got some work done 4" lower with some old school 16"

I decided on a direction "DONK"

First one to install 22" on a 320 I think it looks Sweeeeeeet

I think everyone who had a cool Datsun in good shape must have driven to the Pacific northwest at some point, broken down, then caught a bus back home.

I will need a few minor parts but overall she is complete and pretty darn clean for a 46 year old truck. Wayne got any extra parts ;)

As I said before, there is/was a right hand door with all the parts(glass ect.), for $20. in portland, mike is selling it. I also received a lot of extra 320 parts from mike when I bought the NL, what are you looking for? wayno

My doors are both in good shape As of now the Chrome Trim piece at the bottom of the hood, gas door, 1 windshield wiper arm

It has a ugly rear bumper and after market tail light I want to go back to stock if possible.

I am sure I will find other thing I need but thats it for now I think.

Hey Chris, I do not see a gas door in the big parts, but I have a few boxes in the garage trapped behind the chevy, i'll see if I can get in there tomarrow afternoon. There is a 320 pickup being parted out in the orange co. ca. craigslist, you might ask him what he has, and what he wants. I am trying to find out if this guy in cal. will take another order to make 320 windsheilds again, I just have to find out what the minimum order is, meaning how many to take the order. I'd go pick them up. I have only two hood trim strips, I have to save one for rechroming, the other is on the truck. I do not know about wiper arms as I do not have any on mine yet, there might be some in the parts, but I have not looked yet, as my wiper assy. is broken, but I have an extra to replace it. Your truck came with bumperettes, new steel ones on ebay(some asian city), and the taillights, there out there. wayno

It did when the original owner parked it 10 years ago and installed a canopy on it so his goats had a place to sleep.

It wants to turn over but the starter try’s and then smokes.

Hey there Chris, I looked for a gas filler door, then I looked at your latest pictures, my NL320 gas filler door is totally differant than your pl320, mine looks more like a 521 door, as I recall, my 320 pickup didn't have a door either, so I don't know what one looks like. The latest pictures look good, did you do some rattle can painting, or did it just need a good cleaning? I didn't see any wiper arms either, I am hoping there is a set in the NL behind the seat. wayno

No biggie I am not in a big hurry I will find them someday yep rattle can it a bit so it looks better sitting there until I can tear it apart. Daughter truck takes priority right now. On a crappy note looks like the motor is seized I dont think its completly seized becuse the starter does turn it but its not happy.

I cannot seem to edit the last post again, it seems that if a piece of trim could be found to continue from the door to the rear it would look better, I would go a step farther and remove the top lip and box it in like the 85-86 720s, with the trim piece I think it would look awesome. wayno

Hi Chris, In the ratsun trucks forum, there is a thread called "the U model", it has a lot of older model datsuns that were shipped to other countrys, and many of them are U320 vehicles with differant looks such as no hooks or lips, and also the box lines go down to the rockers of the cab. This is just for ideas, in case you see something you like. I do not recall seeing any with a trim piece running the lenght of the truck. One of them seems to have a austin mini grill. wayno

<BR>I knew one of the guys(nismo dr) would come threw, this is a modified 1947-53 chevy stepside box, the rear fenders are also modified. The beds not the like the cab that does look kinda crappy I never noticed, weird. What about a 520 or 521 bed
