nissan brake lights

need help, my turn singles wont work and brake light wont work,well wont shut off,please help

ok you did have a thread, first did you install a stereo before the issue. have you checked the brake light switch at the brake petal, and when was the last time the flasher was replaced?

I even took the switch off the brake pedal, the truck had a stero in it when I got it, everything was wrkn fine and then I lost my turn signals and brake lights won't shut off, and my 4 ways will only wrk in the frnt!

Are both side brake lights on? or just one side?

Both lights are on, they don't come on until I turn my lights on, and when they are off I aint got any brake lights.and when they are on I dnt have any brake lights! And my turn signals won't work at all but 4ways wrk but only in the front

Check the ground connection at the back.

 

With headlights OFF there should be power from the brake peddle switch to the back bulbs and to ground to work them.

 

Same with 4 way and turn signal flasher, power from these go the the rear lamps and to ground to work them.

Ok ill check the ground,I'm go get a new brake switch, it aint but $7.00, so then I knw that aint the problem! Could it be the light switch on the steern column? I hope not cuz its $160,

720s also have a problem with the 4 way switch. When shut off the switch sometimes will travel too far off and disconnect the turn signals completely. Just move the switch very slightly toward the ON position to get them working. As I said I doubt this is the problem but it can affect the turn signals.

So what do you think the problem is with my brakes? The only way the brake lights come on is when I turn my lights on, and when I turn them off and hit my brakes their is nothing!

might check and see if you are getting power to the switch with the lights off, voltmeters are wonderful in these kinda ordeals

Check to see if your brake light switch is working (check continuity with a volt meter) and/or the bulbs are burnt out (check fuses) and/or 720s are also known to have fusebox issues. Wiggle it and see if you get the lights back.
