angliagt
I've got an NOS driveshaft, but the flange is 1/4" to small (bolt hole to bolt hole) Can you swap flanges with a larger one?Ideas? - Doug Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Up to Aug. '74 the H-145A diff was used. After the H- 150 and H-150A was used. This could be the difference. Quote Link to comment
angliagt
It had the 150,& the NOS one is a 145.Is there any way to make it work. The 5 speed has a thicker yolk at the transmission end,so I couldn't use it. Can I swap flanges between the 2? - Doug Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
I had a B-210 and the U joints were staked in place. If they are removable and IF the U joint is the same then it's possible \\you could swap them. Quote Link to comment
Dguy210
If you have access to a lathe you could machine up an adapter plate. Did it for my old B110 to use the bigger shaft, I think we made it out of 1/8 inch plate, and that still gave a reasonable in and out travel on the transmission spline. Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Doug, save it for me :-) The 1971-1974 drive shaft is the same. The 1975 model year (which starts October 75) through 1982 is for the H150. I don't think you can simply swap the flanges. One shaft (tubular portion) is longer than the other. Quote Link to comment

I'm still trying to figure out the easiest way to get this done.Do I swap the rear end from the '74 parts car?Have something machined?I want to get the two parts cars out of here,& get rid of the boxes of spare- parts,& spare parts out of here. I want to get this car going - I've had it for almost 4 years,& it's still sitting in the garage. - Doug Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
I had a similar thing on my 620. he diff flange was different from the 4X4 drive shaft I was attempting to mate to it. I laboriously trimmed the yoke with the correct bolt pattern and welded it to the one on the diff. Had to trim it so the bolts could be tightened up but it worked. You can see the old flange bolt hole and weld between the bolts. This has to be precise or the d/s will be offset and vibrate. Quote Link to comment
