'69 510 Interchange into '71 510

Will all of the suspension components from a '69 fit into a '71? It's one of those almost positive things, but just wanna make sure there wasn't something I'm overlooking.

The struts will swap over...... ... but the 69 strut is ~1 inch shorter

 

 

The 69 ball joints are smaller,,,, and will not fit 71 control arms

 

 

The 69 control arm bushings are tapered,, I don't think you should use 69 control arms on a 71 crossmember, or vise versa

 

 

I think the control arm pivot points are slightly higher on the 69 crossmember too

Ball joint 4 bolt mount to control arm is smaller? I thought it was just that the ball joint tapered shank that goes into the steering knuckle was smaller (11mm vs 14mm)? Thus, can't use 11mm ball joint with 14mm knuckle and vice versa. Tie rods tapered joints are also different I think.

The 69 Crossmember is the one to use as it helps restore some of the geometry on a lowered car.

What size is the 72 ball joint, 11mm or 14mm?
