dennis
I am going down the line since the ballast resistor is good. The condensers look like crap (dual points) and I am going to replace them today. Question is this: are the condensers the same front and back? When I look at them on the napa site they do not give you any info on them. Quote Link to comment
dennis
Ok, I changed the plugs out because they were very wet (fuel). Then fired it up and it ran much better but you have to give it a lot of gas to get it and keep it going (3-5k rpms). Anything less than almost full throttle it will stall and die. I went to do the valve last and noticed that they were all at least .014 or .015 but I couldn't find my 19mm (most of my tools are still in boxes) so I will have to dig it out tomorrow or buy a new one. Am I on the right path? Quote Link to comment
dennis
Also, is the accelerator pump supposed to be in the top or bottom mounting holes? I have enclosed a picture with the pump in red. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
If they all have clearance then you can adjust them later if you want. What I was expecting was a few tight ones but I guess that's not the problem. Are you still getting 13 inches of vacuum? Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
like datzenmike said the valve have clearance so thats not the issue for you. try running the car again at high RPM and put your hand over the main side of the carb. Use your finger or screw driver to open the flap on the 2nd barrel. If it runs good on that then I assume your 1st barrel is plugged up, mixture screw needs adjustment.Accell pump giving out. dennis
I ordered a new Weber 32/36 today. The Hitachi was missing pieces internally and I just got fed up with it. Quote Link to comment
