metalmonkey47
http://cgi.ebay.com/...s#ht_2045wt_948 Has anyone ever installed a rev limiter on their carb'd engine? I want one, just for the safety of not over-revving. It seems like a good price for this modual, and seems to be a good unit, I just want to know if you guys think it's worth wiring up. I'm also new to manuals, and still figuring out my gearbox and I don't wanna miss a shift and blow it all to hell. Edited June 4, 2010 by metalmonkey47 Quote Link to comment
Bleach
I found that the older 4-cyl carb engines rev so slowly it wasn't an issue. I think its a waste of time. Quote Link to comment
hang_510
I want one, just for the safety of not over-revving. very few L series street cars have blowed up from a few missed shifts. even w/bad rings, id still push the LZ24 >7000   seems reasonable for piece of mind. Jayden71
I was at 6800 rpms in 3rd with my L16 yesterday, I think she liked it hot and heavy! :D Quote Link to comment

Mines not an L :( its an A15 that didn't seem to be well taken car of and its beyond 200K miles, so I don't wanna take chances. The way I figure it, at least I know If I had it installed I would never blow it to smithereens. I don't have the money for a huge rebuild. Quote Link to comment
thisismatt
Just want to mention that you could still miss a shift and rev the motor to smithereens rev limiter or not. No rev limiter is going to help you if you're already at redline and you downshift. Quote Link to comment
