510 wagon wiper problems

Recommended Posts

So It has been raining buckets of watery shit for days now here in Seattle. My windsheild wipers have been doing great but I noticed the past couple of days they where moving slower and not wanting to start. My fears where fulfilled today when they just stopped on the freeway mid stroke. So I was wondering what my options are for a new wiper motor as I am sure this one has seen its last wipe. What cars use these same wiper motors? are there any weekend wiper mods? I have heard rumors of z cars having wiper motors that might work. It is raining and I need to fix this asap, thanks Guys

PS I searched and didnt find much but if I missed something please post it here and I apologize in advance for making a new thread.

Check wiring and ground connection as well as the fuse box for good connection. Is the body sheet metal grounded to the neg side of the battery solidly?

My pivots got tight on my 620. You know the things the wiper arms connect to. I took apart and greased which helper a lot. Lithium grease the ball joints on the linkages as well.

My pivots (transmissions) were rusted solid. I thought the motor was toast. Took it apart, cleaned and reassembled. Only after I went to hook up my linkage did I realize that it was the pivots that were the problem all along. Now I know  . Do a search for the 626 wiper motor upgrade. The link has been posted several times.

PM "Icehouse" on here. They work out of Everrett, Frank might have extra motor. But ck grounds clean contacks ns somtime the wiper return has to be adjusted. Its in the Haynes manual I think or Datzenmike might now how to do this. Ck the fuse as they can be broken inside where you cant see it.

Yes lube it up.

also sometimes inback of the fuse box the wires get corrodid. Breaks off
