1 wire alt ????

what do you think about the gm 1 wire does it work i have a 72 510 with charging issues and was thinking of going that way.:confused:

I have had two of them. Have not liked either one of them, they were designed for tractors. Enough said.

 

Really though, research the 280zx? alternator swap or even the saturn alternator swap.

 

Use the search function, this has been discussed many times.:D The Saturn swap is even a sticky on here somewhere.

how about try a another alternator of volt reg 1st.

 

maybe you added something in the circut.

If you have an alternator shop nearby, ask if you can have it rewound.

why not just use a nissan IR alt???

various amp rating avail.

I just stuck a ZX 60amp (IR) in the goon.

Mate 2 sets of wires on the external regulator wiring and your good to go.

 

I got a few different mounts to find one that fits, wired the alt up as usual and followed the wiring instructions to remove the external regulator from the dime quarterly tech section.
