Sealik Posted October 21, 2009 Report Share Posted October 21, 2009 (edited) Just bought 2 4x4s today. The reg cab is from Cali.....he said it had 10,000 miles on it. Not. It has 151000k on it....oh well. It's very clean....only a couple of small rust spots on the whole truck. Some kids took it for a joy ride a few years back. I have to replace the windshield and ignition. No prob....got the parts. The 'problem' is....it hasn't been registered in Canada yet. There are ways to get around this...nudge nudge wink wink:D And or go through the legal chain of 'command'. Not sure what I'm going to do with it yet, being that I'm rather partial to KCs. Might have to downsize to the reg cab:confused: Paid 800 bucks for both trucks....little expensive for the KC....needs a head gasket and some TLC....no doubt become another winter truck:) Although....one always need backup. Sealik Posted October 21, 2009 Author Report Share Posted October 21, 2009 The kids smashed it....popped the ignition out and took it up the mountain. Ran it out of gas....lost the alt belt. Was going to flash it up when I got there but the ignition wires were a rats nest. Here nor there....I've never come across a 720 in this area..... in better shape. And believe me....I'm always on the hunt. That will make 11. The rims alone are worth a couple of hundred bucks. I think that box would fit rather nicely on Mikes 620.:D Quote Link to comment

I am having a tuff time finding a KC with black interior. What, IN YOUR OPINION, is the best year? I like the '80-'82 for the fact that it says "Datsun" on the gate. Just don't know enough about them to make a good choice. I just figured go with an '85 or '86 (ST if possible) and do some fab work on the tail gate. :D Thanks Jes Quote Link to comment

The one above has the PW, PL, sunroof, cloth seats and a metal finish on the face of the dash. Actually....anything with a Datsun on it triggers a lalent subconscience hoarding desire......MUST TOW HOME..............:lol: ECU location I believe the 83+ cluster will plug into 80-83...even the 620? Was looking at your 620 build/thread.....did the interior light for the 620 flop down like the 720? This position illuminates the bed/box of your truck. The other light in pic.....mounts on the inner fender, stock in some 720s Also....I think the 720 dash/cluster plugged in Mike's 620 because he changed the wiring harness? Doug. Quote Link to comment

I wanted the stock 620 console but I also wanted to be able to keep an eye on my engine. As to the light, that was a 720 light. A freind of mines dad had the same one in his 720 4X4 Mike changed the entire wiring harness I believe. As to the question of which is your favorite....I was talking year. I would like to find either an '85 or '86. Do you know of any good links to info on these trucks. I have a freind from England that I am talking to about shipping over a 4 door 4X4. :D:fu: Quote Link to comment

I said 85 because that was the first year for the ST and still a 720 I'll keep my eyes....ears open. That 4 door has been discussed and pics posted in this site.....somewhere.
