What is a fair price to pay for a used trans?

Found a used (duh) 210 5 speed at a local yard i'd like to put in my 1200. The guy wants 250 for it and it's a u-pull place. It seems high to me, but I don't know. Just want and opinion or two.

 

Also on these lines he wants 100 for the lower contol arms and castor rods for my 280zx strut swap. I thought that was way high.

 

Thinking of making him an offer on the lot.

Spend $40 on gas and go to the Phoenix u pull its. They all have half price days here. Check them out on line.

Good idea. I looked online. The only one I found is at 3250 W. Broadway. How do I know when the half price days are? I assume there is more than just the one.

I think its too high also but alot of MG british guys get those Nissan 210 speeds on their conversion.

I have a 210 4 speed for free. its going to the dump one day if I cant unload it.

They pay big bucks for them too. I would buy that one at asking to to resell it for twice as much.

There are 2 on eBay right now. One has an opening of $550 and the other is at $310 with almost a week left. The MG guys suck 'em all up. I have one that I will be posting eventually. Ratsun guys are cheapskates so I haven't listed it here yet. You looking for a 60 or 63 series?
