Halp! I need an l20 dizzy! (PNW and pwned)

I need any dizzy that gets me back on the road. My truck is a 78 so it has the EI without the matchbox. But anything that gets me running works. Im broke but have parts, mostly odds and ends, a good 620 bumper, ford style weber (basically a 3236) and just weird, neat stuff for trade. And if you ever get the crane fireball ignition setup, put in a ballast! .......dammit...

The '78 distributor seldom goes bad... the ignition box seldom does either, though it's more common to go out than the dist itself which is nothing more than a magnetic pickup.

So, you have the remote igniter box under the dash? And the dizzy with the wires that go to the little box on the corner of the radiator?

 

I have one of those sitting on the workbench. It has not pedastal, cap, rotor. Just a dizzy and i have no way to test it.

I put the crane fireball conversion in it (hall effect) and the unit went bad on account of me not putting a ballast in the circuit. Thanks for the info tho. Ive heard very little about these distributors. Its nice to hear theyre reliable (as long as you dont go effin with em :P
