I'm doing my hood in flat black.

Should I do 8 rays or 16?

I have a book that says 8 rays is ground force related and 16 is naval.

I really don't care... which one would look best?

The Naval look is the typical way its done. I prefer the 16 ray look.

i would go sixteen. i'm doing a slightly different version of the rising sun. instead of doing the whole flag, i'm only going to paint a quarter of it, so it will only show about 8 rays. or maybe the whole flag. it depends on how hard the stencil will be to make.

I think 10 rays looks good. Not too fat but not too cluttered either.
