fisch
I had a chuckle upon seeing this car datsun 1200 - $2000 (allentown pa) You know, I think a 1200 with a stock engine is harder to find than a 510 with a stock engine. And though I wouldn't kick a rotary Dat out of my drive way, everytime I see one on CL in the east where they are so rare I go, 'Oh too bad'. Silly of me as I have nothing against engine swaps. Will
I guess I have the same problem - plus usually when I see a rotary swap, it is a project car. How often have you seen a car for sale with a rotary swap that says "runs great! ready to ride!" Nope, usually they say "fun project! engine not included!" Just adds evidence to my theory that rotary engines kill Datsuns. Or maybe I'm just used to looking into an engine bay and seeing a Datsun engine, and when I see a rotary it is so small that it looks like the engine is missing just about everything but an alternator and distributor? You know, I think a 1200 with a stock engine is harder to find than a 510 with a stock engine. Dime Dave
The most common thing I see in 1200 Coupe ads is most are incomplete drag cars. Ussually with an unfinished rear frame job and no drivetrain. Hard to imagine I bought a road race ready 1971 Datsun 1200 coupe with documanted history from 1973 for a third of what most track ready 1200 drag cars advertise for. I've seen unfinished projects advertised at nearly twice what I bought my 1200 road racer for. I guess a 1200 racecar isn't a racecar if its a 1200 drag car. Quote Link to comment

fisch
LOL East coast living! There was a MINT 710 for sale in CT that was blue w/ white interior. The price was 7K and this was before the 610s and 710s started getting the attention they are these days. But it was for sale for years with no buyers. Makes me kick myself for not grabbing a 610 coupe that was for sale on the CT coast for $500 in like 2007. Was told it was a granny car w/ only like 20k mi on it or something crazylike that. Ah well... There is that 610 still siting in Albany NY for $3700. That is a patient seller too. He might get the money if he waits long enough. Albany610 Quote Link to comment
Will
That 610 always pops up in my searches. ...some folks just seem to price cars at what they think they are worth, instead of what their cars could possibly sell for. There are even a few 710s I've seen on the west coast listed in the 4500-7000 range. I'm curious if any eventually sell for a price anywhere near what the owner is asking. Mr. BOHICA
Came up last night.... Silver Spring, Maryland. Up for sale is a 1972 Datsun 510 2 door. These car are getting very hard to find, especially on the east coast. With a fantastic racing history and a cult like following, the Datsun 510 is a classic sport sedan that started the japanese tuner movement. This car features its original paint and has not been modified or hacked up. It came from Florida and is very straight and all the body panels line up nicely. It does have its share of rust in the usual 510 places. Mainly the lower rear quarter panels, the floors and the rocker panels. The engine and transmission were removed by a previous owner but I have an L20B 2.0 liter engine and 5 speed that goes with the car to get it back on the road. Or I have a KA24DE and 5 speed that I will sell separately. The KA makes a nice swap into the 510 The interior is complete and in good shape. The door panels are not cut up (no Speaker Holes) and the seats are in good shape too. The drivers seat has a few splits on the seams but that can be expected with a 40 year old car. The glass is in good shape too. The car has a nice set of Panasport style wheels and almost new tires. I am selling this because I have too many projects and no time and this car deserves to get back on the road. I have several 510s and have been into them for over 25 years. I have lots of parts too. So if you have always wanted to get a 510 of your own, here is your chance. Please remember that this is a project and not a running car. With time and attention, this car could shine again. It would make a great vintage race car or a sweet street car. $3250 or best Cash offer Cash Only. No Checks, Bank Wires, Nigerian Scammers, etc. I will not reply to emails or text messages so if you are serious, give me a call. Please, phone calls only between 9AM and 9PM Eastern Time. Will
'58 Datsun P210... at the east-coast price of 5000. pretty high for a project car, but maybe it can be haggled a lot? Rare 1958 P210 DATSUN for sale. Needs body and interior work. $ 2,000 more invested in it and it will be an awesome and outstanding piece of car. It is similar to the one on the picture, however that' s not it. I could not upload the actual picture because of technical problems. Need to sell it because of lack of funds. fisch
^If it is the one I am thinking, it has been for sale in longisland a few times. At one point it was on Ebay with no reserve and I could have bought it for $200!!! No kidding! But I missed the auction ending and no one else bid. It is a pretty solid project from what I recall. Here are pictures I have if it is the same one. Quote Link to comment
