  1. Okay, NOW I'm confused. Where do the girls go? What good is a car that doesn't accommodate babes? Up until now I was backing this 100%, but if the babes are out of the picture - then so am I!
  2. Fuck, some of those are pretty insane! I ended up ordering the basic unions from your original post, and now I'm anxiously anticipating their arrival. I got some more of the cage work done this evening. Here you can see how I've begun boxing in the door bars to where they bolt down towards the floor. They're not right against the floor because they'd interfere with my lovely new carpets - and we can't be havin' that! I got the passenger door bar rigged up, and added a diagonal bar in the main hoop because they look tough! Strategically placed nitrous bottles... The door bars will look SO much prettier with the new unions.
  3. You're welcome! I know, right? The tolerances would be too tight after being powdercoated with the union they provided, anyways. You said that coupler was the cheapest you'd found? Were there others you had also seen? I tried my luck at finding some more, but wasn't successful - if not, I'll just order from your link. :)
  4. I'd like to think I'm doing it properly, haha. The cage is gonna get powder-coated the same colour as my intake piping. The car is going a brown flake, so the cream cage will be rather nice I think! :) Thanks for the offer, but Jeremy ended up setting me up with a couple of 'em. I don't remember which one I've got, but it's what I consider to be the most attractive of the air dams; dual vents, and full poly - shit'll bend right in half no problem.
  5. You are a life saver! I'm actually incredibly thankful that you posted this, because looking at those stupid unions that were supplied with the door bars was really bothering me this evening. They're an eye-sore, and are the first things you see when you open the door.
  6. Started on the driver's door-bar last night. You can see where the lower bar buggers off towards where the rocker ends and the floor pan kicks up at the firewall. I'm going to build similar boxes to the ones for the legs of the main hoop so that it's all tied together nice and strong. Seat clearances. The bar passes between my shoulder and my elbow - I once read somewhere that this is a good spot for a door bar? Works for me! Cut the tacks, drilled out the sleeve on the bench, bolted it back together, set it back in place, and welded in the top section for good.
  7. I wanted a bolt-in cage for the sake of retaining a full interior. If it was a clean shell without a bunch of chassis repairs and a bondo-filled body, I would have considered a proper cage. But, all I was looking for was a tidy 6-point to stiffen up the chassis when I'm ricin' on the streets. I'm also 6'1", and I when I'm in the bucket I'm not even close to touching the roof. I've got no rails or sliders, and have mounted the seats directly to the old floor tabs. The first time I tossed a Sparco in there to get an idea of where it needed to be, where it sat on the tabs ended up being a good height - I ran with it from there.
  8. Thanks, guys! I think I'm going to add my own diagonal bar if I can figure out a way to dodge the back of both my seats. I should have taken a picture of how tight is sat to the back of my bucket. I got awfully lucky, haha.
  9. Here she is all bolted in. Just have to do the door bars meow.
  10. Fixed that fucker! The passenger side one was close enough that I just made a shim for it. Just gotta get a couple longer bolts tomorrow.
  11. Chopped it out to box it in for the feet. Nothing's ever pretty when it comes to Datsun floors. It's like trying to weld to paper, and it drives me insane. Too bad the drivers side box didn't work. I forgot to account for the angle that would have been built in to the floor initially. This is where I started to get even angrier. Cut that shit back out!
  12. So, as if it took me 18 hours to assemble a 'bolt-in' street bar. It was headache after headache because this is a Datsun and the floors didn't exist when I got it. Here's the main hoop. This is why I got angry.
  13. MAP. Do away with the MAF bullshit forever - you'll love yourself for it! Your car makes me want a new shell.
  14. I'm only busting your balls, haha! You will likely be able to do highway burnouts with 195's, though - which is pretty fucking awesome.
  15. Less stretchy-stretchy, more meaty-meaty. I will rebut with 205/50/15's on 9J's! Mad gangster, yo.
  16. What sizes are you looking for? 225/45/15 R1R's are only $140 a piece - pretty reasonable for a tire with a treadwear rating of 140.
  17. I think I'm just gonna search locally, or buy one of the Ebay ones. I'm a little miffed I fucked mine up.
  18. I'm backing the gold 100% - I wish they had that shit for an RB. :(
  19. Haha, I certainly hope so! I wanna have fun. They are rather convenient little storage spots for the scissor jack from the factory, as well as tools. They fit the small deep-cycle batteries really well, also! ;) You're the bestest! Do you know in which way they're actually different? I did manage to find some ones on Ebay that were relatively inexpensive. It's a kick in the nuts to have to buy shit out of my own neglect.
  20. Absolutely, dude! I'd love to take them off your hands.
