  2. I live in the dry dessert of El Paso and was thinking about getting one for my 620 since it would be cheaper and much more easier than getting an original one. I think it might look pretty sic in my truck but, are they easy to take off? 'Im afraid if i get one it might get stolen.
  3. i will, and yes it is a 1980 720 2wd. thanks a lot for all the information.
  4. I would but the truck didn't have a transmission in it anymore, i guess ill have to buy a new one. thanks a lot Datzenmike. I do have the flywheel from the truck (6 bolt), I'm going to buy the truck clutch kit instead.
  5. Sweet! :w00t: , actually it is in my 620 but my L16 engine seized and I'm going to put an L20b from a 1980 720, so will everything swap to the L20?
  6. My transmission on my L16 is approximately 26 inches long and my shifting pattern is 1 3 5 2 4 R and ive heard doglegs have R 2 4 1 3 5 so are there different shift patterns for doglegs?
  7. hahaha Fuck Autozone's shitty hour shifts! Today me and one PSM were alone the whole afternoon, and it got very busy, but i worked my butt off and im kinda proud of it. : )

ok my transmission is around 26" long, but the gears are 1 3 5 2 4 R what would it off of? i've been searching like crazy for transmission identification, but cant find anything like this one.

  12. Truck is coming out really good  I hope you win your case bro.
  13. I just got my OSK timing kit and the cam gear does not have the V-notch. I was thinking of using the one from my L-16, would this be a problem?
  14. Well the car is in el paso, so rust should be minimum, but not a lot of datsuns in el paso so, if you buy it its going to be hard to get parts for it, even if you go to Juarez its going to be hard, but if you really want it go for it.

    w58 head

I have been inspecting it closely and and the only thing it has is the little chip from the second photograph, that being said there should be no major damage and i should just put it back together right? As long and the cam turns by hand without the rockers in place, or should i sand it?

    w58 head

That's exactly what I thought at first, but the head doesn't show any bumps or damage from the outside and it did have the cam thrust plate and not the sprocket.

    w58 head

Thanks Banzai510, that good to hear, so i should just sand the little chip and the line and its should be fine, right? I should add this, this head is from a 1978 510, and i have another w58 from a 1980 720, would it be better to swap the cam from the other head?
