  1. NEW PRICES!!! I have some datsun stuff for sale. all prices are OBO Non-turbo 280zx transmission $100 280z 4-speed just the transmission. $50 Complete roadster transmission setup for a 510. Trans, crossmember, shifter, clutch fork, drive shaft. The first-second gear syncro is gone but only when you down shift. $200 L20b in need of rings, good head, mild cam. $100 I also have some stock 510 struts with adjustable spring seats, that I was told looked similar something Turbo Tom used to make. Brakes worked fine when I pulled them. $50 I am in Kennesaw, GA. I can e-mail pictures of anything. I prefer not to ship but at the buyers expense I will.
  2. Thats what I needed to hear/read. thanks friends, project build page will be started once I can post pictures. Thanks again.
  3. I already have an L20b in there its just the one thats in there needs a rebuild so I'm gonna build this one then swap them.
  4. I am about to rebuild an L20 for my 510. My plan is to use 280z flat top pistons, a ported w58 head, Mild cam, and a down draft weber. I have used the ozdat engine builder program and it doesn't seem like there will be any clearance issues but I'd still like to get some feed back on my plans. The 510 is my daily driver also so keep that in mind. Thanks.

  6. I need a L-series 4-cyl short block bare or all together. I'm in the SE so as long as you are within a 8 hours drive I'd be glad to come buy it.
  7. Any word on shipping?

  8. Hello, I have a 1970 Datsun 510 2dr. The engine is a L20b with Twin SU carbs. The engine and head were rebuilt recently (less than 1000 miles) and a hot cam was installed. The transmission is a Datsun roadster 5-speed. It is rolling on some 13in American Racing Libre wheels. Stock brakes but the suspension has been modified by the previous owner. The body is extremely straight for its age. No major rust but there is some surface rust in some areas. The car comes with a fuel injection kit. The kit is based off Honda Motorcycle 954 throttle bodies with intake manifold for the L20. It comes with a wiring harness, all the sensors, ECU, fuel pumps, and a tuning device. I have 2 extra transmissions; one 280z and one stock both 4-speeds. I have a complete Poly-urethane bushing kit. Also I have a crane cams points conversion kit to get rid of the points. The Transmission grinds in second, so that will need to be rebuilt or swapped out for a different one. The carbs need to be rebuilt, I can get it to start spraying starter fluid into the carbs but it will not stay running. The price is $3300 firm. I can e-mail pictures of anything you'd like to see. The car is located in Kennesaw, GA
  9. I acctually spoke to him about it, if I remember correctly He only wanted 4 grand for it. I tried to trade him my 510 and my 240 for it. but he wanted cash. so I tried to sell them but by the time I got some bites it had been sold.
  10. Thanks for the help!

  17. This is my first thread post, so bear with me. I have a '70 510 L20b with what i thought was a 280zx 5 speed. I recently pulled the transmission with the intentions of replacing it because the 1st and 2nd gear synchro's had gone bad. It turns out that I have a close ratio roadster 5-speed with a l-series bellhousing. I decided I would keep the roadster trans a get a replacement until I can afford to rebuild the 5-speed. So a picked up a '73 z 4-speed 'cause I was told it would bolt in, it doesn't. so my question is should I put the roadster trans back in it and deal with the grinding, or should I build a new crossmember, get the drive shaft shortened, and make the shifter hole bigger for the 4-speed to get it back on the road? cause its gonna be a while before I can afford to rebuild the roadster trans....
