  1. I know! I'm waiting for the body filler to ship! lol... My slacking saved me a fender.
  2. That looks awesome, does the intake actually get better performance up there? Helladowndraft. :D
  3. The rusted pipes make it look very ratsun.
  4. It does not anyways, the car was hit before I got it. :P Thats where all the other damage is from. ;) Lucky all this did was bend that piece.
  5. I took my anger out on it with a hammer... suspension is OK, nothing screwed up...except by rust. The sun was shining right at me, it was really hard to get good quality pics... All sorted, thanks for the tips... :)
  6. OK then... I'll see what I can do. dented her minivan pretty good, though.
  7. Hammer, body filler, and paint? :D Time to get some bondo at the store.... Truthfully I nearly cried when I saw it bent up... Was going to order some of that UPOL stuff anyways... Guess now is a better time than ever. Since I forgot to order the damn clutch... AGAIN.
  8. My mom just came home and hit my car. whoo. How do I fix this? The fender was in the garage at the time.
  9. Yeah, I drianed the pan. I figured that with the new filter a little old oil would not make much of a difference. I'll definitely change it again soon. Still running strong, I got the socket to remove the oil filter so I'm going to change the oil again tomorrow probably... The oil filter is in between the exhaust manifold and engine mount... The way I changed I already had the cylinder head off, and exhaust manifold, ect. Lucky the K&N ones are wrench-off, but I didn't have a socket that fit it.(1" socket!) edit, Like I stole it, you say? hmmm... Idea. Involves a hacksaw and some metal... and lots of throttle... edit, hurrah... I can just remove the old head bolts and install these without removing the cylinder head, yeah? Also, better mounting. IT CAME WITH STICKERS!
  10. D'OH I forgot to post this... A lady(about 50, or so :P) who walks by my house almost every day stopped to talk to me, when I first had my 510 towed to my house and was cleaning it up. She said she actually use to have around 5 of them over the years, and talked to me for a while about them. It was pretty cool to meet someone else who use to have a 510. :D Also seemed the kind of person to get the car running if it broke down. Thats why you don't drift on public roads. Find a nice parking lot to piss people off. :D
  11. AH! Right, the automatic assembly does use a few clutches, and bands. I forgot about that. :D Does not slip at all btw, has been much stronger since I changed the oil, shifts are quicker and harsher(what they should be, not abnormally) usually under 1 second (unless I do L>2 or something). All I did was drained out the trans oil, replaced the filter, and filled it back up... Maybe I should do it a second time to make sure everything is flushed? There was very few metal bits on the magnets in the oil pan of the transmission.
  12. It does not have a clutch, it has a torque converter. :) The 89-92 cressidas where only sold with a 4spd automatic. 121,000 miles. Going to change the oil right now, it seems to only smell bad after driving for a long time. I also repositioned the transmission cooler so that the radiator fan can assist cooling it while going low speeds.
  13. I had never even changed my oil, and I changed the head gasket on my toyota, which is a bit more complex engine. :D There is only one way to learn!
  14. How is the handling? Does it actually do well around corners? Looks awesome! :D
  15. Or you can just replace the timing chain/sprocket yourself? You can get a timing set on rockauto for $50. :D
  16. I found the prep&etch stuff!! :) No luck on the POR15 stuff though. On the way back I spotted about 5 american restored muscle cars, about 10 corvettes, Porsches, a Ferrari F430 spider, and two Aston martin DB9 convertables(both silver!).... WTF! I also drove about 65 miles because I got a little lost coming home through backroads. :D
  17. Everything is good so far, running strong. Going to change the oil/coolant again and the head bolts for ARP studs next weekend Though, I noticed if i'm in 3rd gear(OD OFF) around 2600-3000RPM's and half throttle(getting on the freeway, ect) there is a bad burnt transmission oil smell, any idea? The transmission is still getting too hot? ...
  18. So I want stiffer springs, so if I take off 2-3 inches of coil from the right and left side then I will have a small % increase in rate, decreasing body roll. With better sway-bar mounts and when I replace the shocks/struts this will improve cornering capability...
  19. I mean to say, cut your springs for the desired spring rate, not to lower your car. The problem is people cut them to lower their car, they end up brining the spring rate too high with stock dampers = cappy ride.
  20. OK, thanks. I'll try again today. :D
  21. Get some coilovers and wheel spacers buddy.
  22. LOL, I thought so. Thats what an S2000 rides like(but not nearly as bad). Cut your springs for spring rate, not for ride height adjustment! Also need good dampers to go with it. Thanks for the info.
  23. everyone says "horrible ride" but what exactly does it feel like? My dads S2000 suspension is fecking stiff and hell over bumps(but soft enough to get use to), but it handles wonderful. Is it just very stiff, or does it actually impair handling? Sorry for thread hyjack... I never can find the answer to this. I'm also going to replace the shocks/struts soon, maybe the ride is also bad due to the too low damping rate?
  24. offtopic-ish, Hmm can cutting springs reduce body roll?(higher spring rate, lower center of gravity?) Was thinking of taking half a coil off my toyota tomorrow.
  25. So since the toyota repair is finished I wanted to continue on this. I cannot find any of that ospho stuff in ANY hardware store here in oakland, same goes for UPOL. All the body filler here is bondo, no matter what store. :( Ordering online, less anyone has a suggestion?
