  1. Steve, Great photo with the green grass and bail of straw, the only thing wrong with the peep mirror, is it's upside down, doesn't look right when the neck doesn't swoop down. I got tired of close calls with the blind spots, and bought one for each side, until I could find what I really wanted. I think the fit right in with the primered rat rod look that I have going on til it is ready to paint. :P
  2. Bob, Looks like you have the same kind of friends that I do! LOL!
  3. Looks great, I can hardly wait to see how this runs when finished! :P
  4. You can get the sway bar bushings from Energy, you just need the sway bar diameter. :D
  5. For that kind of money, you could have an aluminum rad custom built. I only paid $600 for my 2 pass with shroud and electric fan in my 57 Chevy capable of cooling 750hp! :P
  6. Where were you when I was looking for one? I ended up using a stinkin' Toyota light! Steve, Love the Honey bucket, and Black Sheep stickers! :D
  7. I would go with the 15X7 and 15X8 with staggered tire sizes, should look great. Back in the day when I had my 1200, I had the same wheels that BRE used on the 510s, 13X7s with B60/13s all around. I thought I had pics of that car with the wheels on, but all I can find are pics of shortly after I bought it with the stock wheels and hub caps. It was red with black interior, and looked pretty badass, for the time, 1973. If I had another 1200 coupe, and some money, I would put a SR20 in with a 6 speed, Ive seen the videos of a couple of them drag racing that are unreal fast!! :D
  8. If the exhaust valves are leaking, you need to do a valve job before trying to run this engine. The thing about the engine being warm for a accurate leak down test only applies to the rings. Valve don't seal any better when warm, plus when you pull the head, you can get a good look at the cylinder bores for wear. If it was mine, I would give it a fresh hone (if hatch marks are gone, and no excessive wear) new rings, valve job, and check the bearings. If this is done, you will know that you have a good engine that will last a long time. :D
  9. Bob, If you are going to be home this weekend, I can stop by and bring the jet sizes with me.
  10. Thanks in advance for any info you can get on the trans, I have the trans out of the Aristo, that the engine came out of, that could cure my problem, if it will work with the computer that I have. I don't think the head makes a difference, It's the intake is different between the 2JZ-GE and the 2JZ-GTE, that is why I need one from a US spec GTE to hookup the EGR, also need the EGR valve, the plumbing, and the exhaust manifold for the EGR to be smog legal. I really want to get this car registered, so I can start getting it ready for a new paint job without wondering if I will ever be able to drive it legally. :(
  11. Thanks for the info, it has to be a GTE, as the intake and exhaust manifolds are different from a GE. Yes I'm in the Denver area. :(
  12. That would be an incredible conversion, just make sure you get a US version if you need to pass smog where you live, so you don't end up with the same problems I have. A Z with that much power will be scary fast! :D
  13. This car needs all the tire I can get on it so it can hook up. When I get the other issues taken care of I'm going to start saving for a Torsen, it smokes the one too narrow tire any time you get into boost. I would have saved my money and stayed with the BBS wheels if I didn't need a lot more tire. I got a killer deal on the wheels, that was too good to pass up, they are 8.5X19 front and 9.5X19 for the rear, I saw a set on a black SC and they look great! Just have to save up for the expensive tires, after I get it to pass smog. :P
  14. Thanks for the info, right now I just need EGR parts so it will pass smog, and info on the auto trans to get it shifting right.
  15. Finally, some progress pics. Making new door panels. Now just have to cover them, and replace the fuzzies next to the windows.:P
  16. I'm sorry it took so long to start this, but I've had a lot of problems that have slowed progress on all my projects. here are the first pics of the Black Pain that has been nothing but trouble. I will not be able to get it on the road til I find all the parts to put EGR on it since JDM 2JZ-DTEs didn't come with it, and it will not pass smog without. Hopefully I can find someone that put aftermarket intake and headers on his Supra that I can buy the parts I need from. :(
  17. Bob, If you still need jetting, I can try and find my paper work from when I jetted mine to get the right sizes.
  18. Bob, There is no way that you got a hole in your piston from anything you did. My 79 4X4 that I bought new had a turbo running 8 to 15 psi with nothing but water injection, ran for three years and 40,000 plus miles with no problems, so I think the only way that could happen would be builder error! Also I think my experience dispels any theory about factory pistons being weak. L series engines will run forever, if properly maintained. I sold that truck to a friend, and he ran it for another 3 years at 8psi with no problems, by the way. If you think that L20s don't run good, just ask the guy with the V6 Tacoma that I blew the doors off last week. :P
  19. Thanks, I copied and pasted direct from photobucket, so I don't know why that happened.
  20. Let us know how much from Nissan, and if still available? I'm curious, I got one from ebay before I decided to go the more modern route for $7.00 shipped. If you can't get one from Nissan, I'll send it to you since I no longer need it. If anyone needs cool solutions for electrical stuff, there is a shop in the Denver area called Golden Rodtronics that has all kinds of neat stuff. The owner is real nice, gave me one of his passes to get in to the Back to the 50sshow a couple of years ago. If you ever get a chance to go to MSP for that one, it's great, you need to spend the whole weekend there to see all the cool cars, it's huge! I have 2 shows left on my "Bucket List", The Woodward Cruise, and The Grand National Roadster Show. I hope to make it to both in the next couple of years. If anyone can tell me what I did wrong when I tried to post the pic of my door jam solution, please let me know, every time I don't post any pics for a while, I forget how to do it. I read the instructions twice, but I still couldn't get it to work, it's a bitch getting old!
  21. If you want to go the stock route, there are 2 or 3 vendors on ebay selling them.
  22. Here is the solution for the pin switches and running the wires through the jam for door locks. [/img] I don't know why this isn't working? :(
  23. I should have known, the big perv. Mike would have a comment. :P
  24. Hasn't any one ever told you, The closer the bone the sweeter the meat!
