  1. Im posting this for a buddy. 4 QX56 wheels and tires for sale. Tires are 225/40/18 more than 50% tread left. The wheels also come with smooth center caps, blank with no infiniti emblem in them (over 100 when purchased). The wheels only have around 2000k on them. Will sell for $700 shipped (extreme west coast may be a little more, need to check shipping costs). If anyone is interested let me know
  2. Im trying to figure out why it is that when your bags are aired out, how you have 1 1/2 inches under the frame???
  3. Right hand conversion???? No idea where you got that idea from..........
  4. Yeah, hes actually up in lawrencville. I worked with him at a shop over by stone mountain. Worst job i ever had. Now we are both working over by gwinnett place mall.
  5. Thanks for the compliments! The ratio on the bellcranks is only a slight bit over 1:1.3, so yes you are correct about the forces acting on it. At the air bag you are appling roughly 1.5x the vehicles rear weight at any given time. For one, the center piviot point is not finished yet. It will be internally gusseted with 3/8 plate and the boxed with 1/4 plate. The frame is 3/16 and the bag mounts and gussests are 1/4 plate. Ive done quite a few setups with a more conventional bag on bar style with a leverage ratio of more than 1:1.5 with less structure. I can deff see your point if we were talking about something that with something that would be going off road. extreme articulation is hell on mounting points, while conventional driving is not so bad. The joints in the the 4 link are superpivots (johny joints) and flex quite well, which takes a great deal of stress off the 4 link mounting points. And with the wheel and tire clearance running 22's and 24's, it wont be hitting sides at all Il make sure to post some more pics as he gets a little further.
  6. Well its been a while, havent really touched the truck in a minute. Since ive finished the shop ive been building a 70's camaro for a customer, while working full time at the collision shop i work at, so i havent had a whole lot of time. Ive decided against the crew cab deal, i really just want to get it done sometime the the next 30 years :D . Im going to work on it this weekend some, probably gonna go ahead and shave the drip rails off, ive been debating it for a while, but i figure once i cut them off, i cant go back. Im also thinking about reworking the rear suspenion setup with a canitlever setup, not quite sure yet. Also, the datto was in minitruckin magazine. I believe it was Jan 09, in the spring fling show coverage. I been helping my buddy a little with his build here and there. Pretty wild build, fontier on 22's and 24's. Ill post some pics for your enjoyment. this is the truck about 1 month after being purchased, if any of you know anything about frontiers you may be able to point out the subtle but intracate body work. Front frame section is narrowed 2 inches and z'd 2 inches, built to ride low About the same size as the 22's begining of the cantilever Ill get some pics of my pile up after the weekend.
  7. They are air ride technologies shockwaves (http://www.ridetech.com) They dont actually make the ones that i have, i custom ordered them because i needed more lift than anything they sell off the shelf. They ended up at right about $1000 for the pair. They ride excellent though, i had them on my fullsize before this. Everyone that rode in it told me that it was the best riding bagged truck they had ever been in.

  8. I would highly suggest going with a slam bag in the front. The firestones expand outward way too much to fit the bag in such a tight location. You are going to have to notch the frame, quite a bit at that. Heres a few pics of mine: I wish i still had all my pics, but the engine crosmember had to be cut because the lower arm was hitting it, it was then plated which adds strength to the notched area of the frame. I also added internal plates inside the frame before i placed my cover over the notched frame for some extra strength. Also dont forget, if you want to lay full rail, you need to cut the center of the tranny crossmember and modify the bodymount since they hang lower than the frame. You may also want to look at your upper control arm mounts, see if your going to going to have enought adjustment to correct your camber at you desired ride height. I re-made my mounts because of this.
  9. The lift is coming soon, ive gotta build a few cars for customers first to pay for it.
  10. Well its finally done (with the exception of the driveway). Its time to get back on the 521 again soon!! I also have a few side jobs lined up so maybe ill have some cash to sink into he datsun. Heres a little slide show, try not to drool on yourselves too much.......... :D http://img513.imageshack.us/slideshow/player.php?id=img513/9157/12197907361d5.smil I dont know how to post the slideshow but theres the link
  11. Anyone?????????? I know theres some people out there that would love to see a layed out crew cab 521
  12. Im going to be starting on my crew cab project for my 521 in the very near future, and i need a some window frames to reshape the window opening for the back door. I was kinda wondering if someone had some old rusty junk doors laying around that they could cut the frames out for me. I would gladly compensate anyone for their time, and the shipping. Im really itching to get started, and this is one of the things holding me back.
  13. If its not bagged, there is no point in body dropping it.
  14. Damn, people really still do traditional body drops??? Heres the stockfloor we're working on for my buddies frontier on 22's. We havent gotten the cab on it yet, but i think we're only gonna have to raise the tranny tunnel about one inch. No losing headroom in a truck thats already small. Stock floor is the only way to body drop anymore
  15. This is far from the truth. With the right setup, there is actually no difference between a 4 link car on coilovers, or air bags. In fact, the air bag actually will give you more tunability on the track. A nice drag setup on air would be a nice strong parallel 4 link, with a watts link, and shockwave air coilovers. The shock in them is double adjustable for both compression and rebound, and you can also trasfer weight and make slight air pressure adjustments to hook a little better. On another note though, air bags are not allowed on most race tracks, and theres usually good reason for it. What happens when you on the big end of the track, doing 120mph and you blow an airline??? Bye bye truck. Heres mine with shockwaves, but if you really wanna hook good, i would go with the parrallel link over the triangulated
  16. The bed will more than likely stay standard length. If i do anything to it, i would lengthen it.
  17. Some updates: 1. The shop is getting closer to being done. Its almost time to paint the inside, and bring the compressors down. The lift will more than likely come after a little while seeing as were already way overbudget, but you only live once right? (pics below) 2. The truck has been sitting for a little while because of all the work that we're doing to the new shop, and because of my hand injury. I have really had no space to work on it for a few months. Recently i had been contemplating bodydropping the truck, but my only hangup is that i dont really want to go and redo a whole bunch of work ive already done (wheel tubs, bed floor framing, clutch master cylinder mods). So as of right now, im pretty set on making the truck a crew cab. Ive got another truck, that really needs to get out of here when the shop gets done, so i have all the parts i need. Im going to have to re work the door frames, and shorten the doors by 4-6 inches, but i really think its going to set it off. Once i get started i will deff put up some pics. 3. My hand is almost 100% now, ive started working again at the body shop im working at. Its great to be back at work (i cant believe i said that) Shop pics: This is the paint booth side of the shop, all the holes in the walls are lights, the fan is explosion proof and will get a filter unit built around it. Also built a few cabinents for some extra storage Heres some more cabinents (goot have storage) Cabinents and bench (also under cabinent lighting) The beginings of the rest of the cabinents, along with my shadow box for my 1959 original GM dealership corvair sign. If you look closely you will notice the lights are on hinges to swing down to the paint booth side of the shop. They will swing just inside the curtain walls we will be putting up shortly. Neons rock!! but classic neons are even better!!! I cant wait, almost done!!!!!!
  18. What did this intake manifold come off of that fits a KA???
  19. You will deff want to clip it for sure. In all honesty, i wish i hadnt have cheaped out and used the stock clip. As of now its the only thing holding me back from body dropping it. Plus its tons more work and test fitting using the stock stuff. As for they years, you have to have seth answer that one for you, hes a yota guru.
  20. Nice to see you made it over seth, maybe its time to get rid of the yota at get a datsun....lol!!! Just and idea............ Work looks good as always buddy!!
  21. Sorry for no updates for quite a while. Shortly after i got back from spring fling, i had an accident at work (drilled most of the way through my hand with a 1/4 drill bit). It didnt actually hurt any function of my hand, but hit directly in the nerves that goto my index finger. So after waiting about a month or so without regaining feeling and having quite a bit of pain in the palm of my hand while working, they decided to do sugery (which was about a week and a half ago). After taking a wrist joint nerve out of the back side of my hand and grafting it into the palm of my hand, i have been down for the count. It really sucks because my new garage is almost don now too!!! Before i injured myself i was too busy with this: I cant wait till we're done!!!!!!
  22. I think its going to turn out pretty nice. Since i have to replace the rockers anyways, they will match prefectly. Im going to use a buddys sheetmetal break to make the new rockers. Hes got a big industrial sized 20ft break. I will more than likely have him make me one 20 piece. Cut off the old rocker, replace it with the new piece, and the use the identical piece on the bed. The back is not getting a rocker section though. Its getting extended quite a bit though. My truck laid out doesn't even look low from the back because is so high in the air. its getting between 3-4 inches added to it. Im also considering cutting the datsun out of the back (blashpemy!!!!) and having Infiniti samped into a piece of steel and grafting it in. No one knows what my truck is already, and this will really throw some people off!
  23. And heres my buddies dually, he towed my truck for me. We finally got it on a dyno while we were down the, it was just under 600hp and 1300ftlb, its a really wired felling riding in something thats that big, but yet so fast.
