You have a points type dizzy installed right now? If you upgrade to a Ei dizzy your engine will probably run smoother and you'll have a lil more power. Plus you won't have to mess with adjusting points. So to answer your question. Yes you can change it if you want. Should you? If your not happy with the points type, sure. It's one of the first mods I do to any of my engines.

Yeah, I do plan on using longer studs in the near future. I swapped out the ones on my 521. The lugnuts were barely grabbing with the spacers. Better safe than sorry.

How's the wire that connects to the solenoid? The connector on mine was loose and it would act up sometimes. Have you tested the starter?

Have you tried a muffler shop? They have those deals that expand pipes from the inside. Not sure what their called. I remember watching them use one when I did the exhaust on my 521. Maybe try this? http://community.ratsun.net/topic/21337-how-to-bead-your-own-intercooler-pipes/
