Good job Skib...but now with my post there all by itself, it makes it look like I'm some ahole for posting that for no reason. Hahahaha, I was just trying to show a newbie where he went wrong without actually calling him out on the price thing! :P

Look for oil leaks around the front cover, oil pan, front/rear seals, look for signs of oil leaking, look for signs of rusting or corrosion. If stored outside look to see that there isn't signs of water seeping inside. I'm assuming this engine is already out of the car...chances are you can still get the compression test done if you care to. You just pull the plugs and connect a battery with jumper cables to the starter to tap until you get the thing to turn over and give you readings. Oh and when you pull the plugs be sure to inspect them to gauge how bad (or good) they look like. A seller will tell you anything just to get rid of it...so just be careful and cover your behind! Plus what does 'ran strong' really mean? I want to hear it ran great, it ran smooth! :P

Just want to clarify for you that the 68 and 69 grill assemblies are each are a one year only design and are both different styles from each other. I have a spare 68 grill if you're interested. When you say headlights, are you refering to just the actual sealed beam headlights or the whole assemblies (buckets, rings, lights)?

I think that says it all...too bad this isn't fully restored. Heck if that is the going price point on 68 510's you'll see my wagon up for sale (for real this time)! :P

F-I-N-A-L-L-Y, over a full year my 2dr is back up and running on it's own without sounding like it's on 3 cylinders or leaking oil like crazy! Just finished washing it for the first time when I haven't had to roll it out of my carport and push it to the end of the parking lot where the water spout is! That alone is huge for me! LOL! Only thing left is to troubleshoot the alternator not charging the battery. I thought I found the issue which was that nut to the ground with a whole bunch of wires was finger-loose...so I torqued it but my amp gauge still didn't show a charge, so I'll have to check with a digital multimeter incase I also have a bad gauge. Anyway took some quick pics on my cell phone... First my own little Datsun meet, my wagon and my 2dr Just gave it a quick rinse to get the dirt off my baby...
