  1. Thanks for the info, good to see that dime doing so well!
  2. Simply AWESOME build thread!!! Perhaps sometime you bay area dimers could show up to one of our SacDatsun meets??? That would be awesome! On the topic of suspension, good to see I'm not the only one who thinks 175# springs are too soft. I upgraded to 250's on my front GC coilovers and combined with Tockiko Illuminas i am much happier. But, I fear no spring, im intrigued by this ultra heavy rear spring deal, so i guess the basic run down is this?? 300# front with WHAT BAR?? 350# rear with no bar? 1/8-1/4" total rear toe? BTW, I knew that car looked familiar, then when i saw it WAS WAGONJONs car it all made sense. =)
  3. Its my L20, im not using the engine anymore anyway. Explains why this engine ran hot though...
  4. Installed the mirrors from the donor 510 LSD removed to change gear ratios Found this under my waterpump on my dead L20B. THIS IS BAD
  5. Got my tax refund, time to finish my engine build, and get my dime back on the road!!

My preparer told me that, if you send in your tax stuff, they'll send it back to you. This can't be just an Oregon thing.

  6. Hey its the 4th annual Delta fun run!!! As per our newsletter: February ******26***** Delta Fun Run We will meet at Whitey’s Jolly Cone on South Jefferson in West Sac at 9:30 am. From there we will head south taking some delta levee roads that eventually will take us to a Caltrans car Ferry to cross the Sacramento River to get to Rio Vista where we will have lunch. After lunch we will head back to the ferry and take some more levee roads to another ferry to get onto the River road following the Sacramento River. We will end the run with a lap around the Capitol. All we ask is that anyone who joins BEHAVES when in the small towns. The local police would like nothing more than to have an excuse to pull us all over. And being CA, they will FIND things to ticket you for. ALSO, these roads are extremely treacherous, they are bumpy, have abrupt turns, NO shoulder, and an off road excursion would either be a swin in the river or flying off a levi into a farm house. This is NOT a high speed fun run. Ok, warnings aside, its a beautiful run, lots of scenery! Heres a shot from a previous 'running.'

  17. Hey Ratsunduders, quick 'report' on our fun run this month, we started out in Cameron Park at McD's at 9am, then headed south on hwy 49 towards Jackson. I rode along with Randy, a Sacramento dimer/1200er (ranman72) in his L16/Automatic 2 door. Nice little ride. During the first leg of the trip we got a sense of how bad the roads still are. We approached a 20mph 90 degree left, he bumped the ol auto down into second, but it didnt engage until right as we enetered the turn, as we rolled through we both knew what was gonna happen, we went sideways! Randy was quick to catch the car and prevent a 'counter spin' and from there on out had buttpucker moments around every turn with a remotely shiny surface. The rest of the trip up until the return was uneventful and went great, nice roads and decent weather. On our return trip we had issues again though, as we made our way up South Shingle road to get back home, the car suddenly died. We rolled off the side, checked things, fuel filter seemed empty, car started, but died under any load. It seemed we ran out of gas. But the gauge read 1/4. After several minutes of fiddling with things all seemed well, so we took off...and sputtered to a stop 30ft down the road. At this point we decided to just drag it to the nearest Valero 4 miles away. Our fun run 'leader' Dave whips out a tow strap from his 510's trunk, attaches to structural parts on both cars, and his built L20B flat towed 2400lbs 4 miles and up steep hills. Later on at Daves house we figured out that it was also having ignition issues from the PO installing Autolite plug wires... Rules Learned: Never use Autolite ANYTHING Always fill your tank when the group stops for fuel. When you floor a L16/auto 510, what happens? Noise. Oh, and nothing. :P Heres the photo album: http://s105.photobucket.com/albums/m217/5anddimer/1-15-11%20SacDatsun%20Railtown%20Fun%20Run/?start=all And some highlight photos.
  18. And ill be your co pilot/photographer!
  19. Valley Springs? You wouldnt be the Decal guy, would ya???
  20. Theres a guy every now and then with a nice 620 who shows up.
