  1. I was only referring to the horn itself, after the relay.
  2. Wow, thats odd... On 510s the horns ground thru the body.
  3. The horn switch gets constant power, but you shouldnt have voltage AT the horn unless your actually honking...
  4. Well, installed new rear bumpstops, and the banging noise is greatly reduced, but still happens with excessive body roll or big bumps. Im thinking swaybar....

no, as in im thinking the noise may be the sway bar actually, is there a *bleeping* technique to clocking the springs in the rear arms???

  5. Sounds like 30 years of wiring hacks thinking they are electricians... You may need a new engine harness :/
  6. So in the fiasco that was getting my new wheels home i had to have an alignment done in Grants pass. THey "forgot" to follow MY specs and instead aligned it to the "book". 5/16" toe in front and 1/8" rear. Car handles like ass. I complain when they call to survey my service. Boom, check recieved for refund for entire alignment!

  8. Cant tuck wheels here, i live on a dirt road! Hard enough as it is. Roof racks are for VWs!
  9. I still have it installed for that very reason

"Placentaville" by Jimmy Buffet.. can't help but be reminded of "Placenta Buffet". Mmm MMM that's good eatin'!

  11. Im thinking that because i have a Datsport rear crossmember, the realigning of the arms has taken the bump stop out of direct alignment with the "snubber" of sorts on the body side, so the spring is now slightly out of alignment, and is "strumming" the steel base of the bump stop. Pretty sure this will fix it! No steel lip to hit anything.
  12. I have one more experiment to try first, bump stop removal.
  13. Had Have Hmmm... I see a pattern @ Vintage Rice those look bitchin on your car!!!
  14. 225# at the WHEEL lol, my bad. They are 900ish# springs. Car definitely isnt bottoming out, the coil seems to be "sproinging" against the bumpstop. Skibby, i'd love coilovers, but the carbs were hard enough to afford :/ My bank account has been shot with a fuggin tommygun lately =( No fun shit either. No worries, still gettin paid at the meet.
  15. Had a shroud on there, but it was hogged out for a clutch fan, but had a factory 4 blade in there.
  16. Cooling issues seem to be solved! Now to solve my noisy rear springs...

unless they are gratis, or in exchange for some bitchin SU's, no can do =/

  17. Been having an issue with noisy springs lately, i have springs that are nearly identical dimension-wise to stock in the rear but made by Eibach and are approx 225#/in. Despite several attempts to "clock" them in the rear arms, i get a near constant banging noise from them, it sounds like something is hammering the springs, when i check out the area in the arm where the spring sits, i can see bare worn metal on the bump stop metal "base". Is it normal to remove/replace bumpstops in the rear with something different? Has anyone else experienced this?
  18. Proper fitting shroud and new thermostat and issues seem to be gone!
  19. Lead acid batteries to corrode your battery plate/terminals to look more RATSUN! :P As i said, yeah, anything can damn near start a Datsun, my lawn tractor batter could probably do it. All a matter of how deep of pockets and how much your eye is on aesthetics.
  20. Always so critical of my engine...... It works, doesnt it? Yes, with a datsun you can get away with most any battery.
