I'd pay like maybe 25 bucks if it has broke glass lol those tops arent super rare and I'd take if for like that much.. anything more and I'd just save my pennies for a new one

quite a few parts have been snagged by the 311s.org people now :P If the hardtop is still there I'd be interested in buying and having it shipped to me.

what year? if its 68+ you shouldnt have too much trouble if its lower you should expect wind in your face

thing I noticed about that engine that makes me think it handles pretty good is the fact that engine is pushed back towards where the firewall maybe they removed the firewall and made the car almost mid engine.

I'd put an LS1 in my roadster if I could afford it. I'd eat cobras for breakfast :cool:

The snow out here is ridiculous, I mean like on one of the worst holiday travel weeks too.. I've never seen this much snow on xmas eve here.. Hell, I've only seen it flurry once on xmas eve. I just got my car fixed only to not be able to drive it cause of the snow today :lol: I mean it is only 8 inches, but there aren't any snow plows in this area in general and they normally use sand on the roads over salt so I'm in for some real fun. The weather has gone from a nice 65F and sunny to thunderstorms to 29 and pouring snow all in 24 hours... As the saying goes.. Don't like the weather in Oklahoma wait a minute.

know anyone that welds? I'd patch the hole with some crappy metal, replace headgasket and boost the motor tell it goes boom. But I own a vw so dont listen to me.

Yeah, walmart has them beat by 100 bucks but neither will ship to my zipcode.. I found a guy listed on ebay that sells them for 499 shipped. lol Will be funny to take it in the dirt and off road.

So far just pricing out the beast, part of the project is keeping it cheap. Casket: 500 Chassis for a bug with title: 400-500 (in debate on tearing down my baja for this lol) Engine will be free as most the parts for blowing it and more I've got laying around and if I buy a new chassis will be replacing the motor in my baja and using that one. This will be something on the side with my Datsun though, the roadster is getting priority but mostly keeping the datto stock besides the miata engine swap and bug-u-la shall be my fun lil monster. I priced out the dune buggy bodies and they are like waaaay to costly.. a casket is cheaper and people will think I've spent more making it. :lol:

there is a red roadster in the first 15 minutes of The Love Bug its seen like 2 or 3 times in the same scene

Not to get off subject but if you aren't worried about keeping the car all Nissan you might look at other engines.. I compared everything from rotary power to the JDM engines for my roadster and I'm going with a Mazda BP from the miata just due to the size of the engine, availability locally of parts, aftermarket and the power isn't too bad when comparing to the SR20DE or the CA18 but on subject I'd go with the SR20 just for the fact there is a bigger aftermarket parts selection

I am gonna stick to VW power as corvair engines are getting hard to come by nowdays, plus my plans are keep it cheap as possible but the engine will be supercharged and should be making least 80-90hp.

Well my Baja bug has started to bore me some so I've decided to do something else with it.. Going to make a Baja VW version of Grampa Munster's Drag-u-la it is going to be like this one somewhat, cept I'm going to place a truckbed on the rear and it will have coil-over suspension: Everyone thinks I'm crazy as hell :lol: I say, fuck it if I crash just bury me in it.

I thought about doing a rotary engine which would be badass but well I just don't see it as the best engine to get cost wise for me cause I'm so cheap it proably will make people cry with the corners I'll be cutting. But I'm going to get a 1.8BP out of a Miata...
