  1. if you don't mind dealing with megasquirt you can order exact SU sized throttle bodies and go with fuel injection, just an idea as the R16 parts are still produced by Nissan for forklifts. http://www.extrudabody.biz/servlet/the-135/Twin-SU-SU%27s-MGB/Detail It is a little on the costy side though I think, I'm going to run megajolt on mine and then in the future maybe upgrade to EFI. I like your car it looks sharp! I can't wait for mine to be done, been busy doing a frame up slowly on mine and its a pain though its taught me a lot about the car and given me time to look at all kinds of crazy setups including an L28 roadster lol.
  2. JDM has been popular for years just as making cars ratty has been. Nothin' wrong with either.
  3. I'd check the measurements on the flares first. I'm currently cutting one set of four up to make just two flares for the rear of my roadster and then going to do the same for my front. I'd look for a set of performance front springs to drop it down lower and as for the rear you can remove springs and use lowering blocks like on a truck. I think some of the guys now are swapping over to a single composite spring for each side. As for getting rid of carbs, yank the KA from the S13 and swap it into the roadster not much cutting needed that or a miata engine. If you want the SR20 you're going to have to cut some on the crossmember.
  4. saw a hawnduh flipped over on my way to work, I don't get how they managed to flip it on the road they was on.
  5. they for sure look like the b2000 rims, mine had a set like this.
  6. I've bought one of the EZ kits, they are pretty nice. Each wire is really labeled every 3 inches and I'd say they aren't the most quality but I don't think you could do much better buying the stuff from a local auto parts store. Got my 12 fuse setup for 30 dollars at xmas on sale. But I'm also having to redo the entire harness, mine was cut in 5 places on every wire and is missing half the wire. lol
  7. You can use them but personally I don't think they fit very well.
  8. http://www.datsunroadster.com/INFO_PAGES/what_year.htm#HOW%20MANY I wouldnt think them to be near as common considering the age and production numbers, most have been lost to time or have been cut up to supply us with parts. also if you haven't visited the roadster forum, 311s.org they have everything roadster there and even some neat upgrades. Sad part about these cars is they are all treated like japanese cars, which meant when they finally gave out they was tossed away by many owners.
  9. I wish they came like that when you buy them out here.. Lol the rust is normally terminal on all the datsuns I've found and even worse on the roadsters.
  10. sounds like its time to freshen up your carbs along with the new floats. The brass floats are prone to springing a leak over time and sinking.
  11. for the size you might look at smaller engines like the miata engine, I know the BP swaps into the roadsters without any cutting so might fit into the 411 SSS the same. If you can find a tranny cheap enough though I'd swap it.. I think there is a roadster one on ebay for like 200 bucks.
  12. I'd post a can of bondo but I'm like naaaah...I think most datsuns look good with a set of flares and an air dam.
  13. I dont know but Smart cars dont seem to smart to me... Less room then the average datsun or vw and get the same gas mileage for triple the cost of one.
  14. I find myself doing it without even thinking twice, I used to not be that way but asshole drivers have created a stupidity to finger ratio. Ranging from the out the window to the ever so famous double duce!
  15. I just got my bike and have barely put 30 miles on it yet and I've already about had an accident, some jackass in a truck pulled right out in front of me! I'm lucky I at least have good brakes as I made'em screech trying to avoid the dumbass who doesn't look for shit. Sorry bout the rant, just pissed I about broadsided a full size chevy on my new to me motorcycle. I need to just buy a tank, roll that around and if anyone pulls out in front crushing time!
  16. Well this one isnt really sporty with the power but it at least has 40hp, I'm quite pleased with it and think it will be awesome looking and such as a cafe racer. Sounds really good.
  17. Not many of us Datto guys out here, but I know as soon as I hear of a stolen datto I keep an eye out... Be like stealing a porsche or lambo out this way with how rare they are here. I'm happy this ended well though, hopefully the guy will do some serious time for grand theft datto!
  18. I just cant bring myself to buy another 4cylinder truck, I had a mazda b2000 it was nice and all but I want a truck I can haul everything in lol I think I might just keep the bug, I like it too much... I've rebuilt the motor and done so much to it already, seems kinda a shame to get rid of it.
  19. Saddly is 4 stroke and it's frame causes an issue with most cafe racer parts, so going to have to make my own seat pretty much anyways. My plan is to take an old bike gas tank, cut it in half for my rear section of the seat, plus it will create a little storage compartment. I've got the glow in the dark paint that glows kawasaki green, thinking I'm going to paint the bike the rising sun design but make it glow blue and green at night. Like some sorta ghost japanese racing bike lol. I'm saving my pennies for building an Kawasaki H1 racer someday soon. But lol can't beat 500 dollars for a perfectly fine working motorcycle, plus its all profit on making it a cafe racer. :D
  20. I bought this bike for 500 bucks, only thing it needs is new fork seals and the seat redone. Its an 81 Kawasaki KZ440 My plan is to make my own seat, make the tank a cafe style tank, and new handle bars. Not a whole lot to make it look good I'd say.
  21. I've got a roadster though, not really wanting to get another.. Trying to avoid the datto virus as I call it... You don't stop at just one  Thinking I might keep the bug and just volksrod it, I've already got the supercharger I planned for the datto adapted to work with a vw, though I really would like one of those fancy pants Z cars.
  22. will get some but at work right now, the wheel hub on my bug decided to destroy itself.
  23. Alright, I've got my Baja bug which I've been driving for almost a year now.. kinda rusty and needs floorpans, I just rebuilt the engine and a lot of small things. My dad has a 68 Chevy C10 long bed with a 400 smallblock he wants to trade me for my bug, has almost no rust... Thing is he gave 1500 for it and I've got 2500 into my bug now... I'm not sure what to do as I kinda like both and could use a truck, I can buy a bug for 500 bucks from the local VW wrecking yard though and build me a volksrod.
  24. yeah I also have to get non UV protecting clear, which sucks but I don't think it will be too bad. My plan is to have the datsun just look white during the day and then at night it glows the BRE stripes and hood paint style.
  25. I got to shopping for paint and decided to make my roadster glow in the dark, I plan to paint the BRE paint scheme on the car but make it glow green and blue. Might even add some hidden art into the car that wont appear tell dark. http://www.glowforum.com/showthread.php?p=36 I ordered the powder and will be mixing it into my paint. http://glowinc.com/SearchResult.aspx?CategoryID=3 I know it might be ricetastic but lol my lil roadster is practically a ghost anyways. Was wrecked once and repaired and set in a field since 83.
