How is the 4wd conversion done? Is there a thread on this subject? I guess i'll have.to search for it. Ok, I google/Ratsun searched for a thread on this conversion last night. I didn't see much of anything vert helpful.

I hope you find your truck,especially if it ends up being like the one in this pic! Mine is the same color,original paint.patina whatever you call it. I'm lowering mine approx 3" ,but after seing your post, I think that looks great also! Good luck! & keep posting pics & updates.

That's the same style (equis (spelling?) Brand?)tach,mounted basically the same way I did the one in my goon.

Good news! My friend who's garage I've been waiting for space in,called me the other day. He wants to get going on my truck project,so he can get his next project going sooner. Now I just need to get the engine,trans,&weber carbs I bought from the gut I bought them from,& haul all of it & the.truck from outside Estacada/Colton over to Molalla.

It's a spoiler made for 510 wagons. Not really a wing, I wouldn't put one of those new,big honda civic style wings on a car. This one looks like it should've been in a Datsun accessory catalog,back in the day. I don't have any pics of it yet,since I don't have it yet. Maybe Jalen has some pics he could post

The damn hillbilly post office in Estacada where one of the NAPA stores I work at is located sent the spoiler I bought back to where it was shipped from,instead of delivering it to my work,so I could sign for it. WTF!!!

I have the same issue with my goon,at many gas stations,but it seems that the ones that don't have the newer style nozzels with the boot on them have better luck. I try to go to stations that are used to how my car's filler neck is,that way they don't spill gas down the side of my car.

I'm not really into the later Z's,but every time I see one of the convertible ones I think , I would drive that. Too bad this one couldn't be saved.

It needs new glass. The mirror glass is there,but you can't see anything in it anymore. I was going to repair that somehow,& was looking for another one for the other side. I'll think about it.

Back when I bought this truck,i also bought an L20 & 5 speed that came out of a '78 620. they're sitting in a shed, & i've been waiting for the guy I bought them from to dig them out,& possibly deliver them,since I think that might be too much weight for my 510 goon to haul. It's been many months now. I read some about ka swaps today,but am going to hold off until my engine swap skills are better (as in I want to learn how to weld & fabricate,own my own welder,etc. ) ,& until it looks like more ka24/521 swaps are done sucessfully. I may be able to get a z22 from one of the 2 720 trucks I know of,so maybe I should just go ahead & build an Lz22. I feel plenty confident that I can handle this swap. On a different note,the white "Datsun" rocker panel stripes I recently bought off ebay showed up today. I am looking forward to getting the truck cleaned up, use some polishing/cleaning compound & my buffer on the truck &.instal the stripes.

I keep hearing this radio commercial for Tim's automotive. In it he.says," we want to be the.shop that guides you & your car on your journey from the dealership,to the junkyard. " after I get done laughing I think ,"that's probably not the best advertising! "

I went back to that closed down wrecking yard in Aurora last night,but only had an hour. All I got pulled were the bumperettes & brackets. Hopefully I'll be going back tonight,or soon. The guy is working overtime at his day job,then at the wrecking yard after work. If any of you are looking for anything there give Terry call (503) 313-1356.

Well,I only had an hour at that closed wrecking yard tonight. I managed to get the bumperettes & brackets but ran out of time.& daylight before I could grab much else. The windshield has been out for who knows how long,so the dash has been wet alot. The radio I was going to grab was frozen,& only a.m. anyway. I may still grab the Datsun/hitachi a.m radio/8-track player just for the nostalgia of it. I didn't have my allen wrenches,so I couldn't get the red hazard knob. I did get the door handles,but not the door pulls yet. The truck I was pulling from didn't have a.radiator in it, but I think the other one does. Hopefully tomorrow or sometime soon i'll be going back for more.

You know, I've never even looked to see if if had any seat belts at all. Since you reposted that picture,i see one in the photo,hanging out through the broken back window. So far I've mostly been collecting parts,& waiting for space in my friends garage,so I can get to working on it. I am not allowed to work on vehicles at my apartment,& the truck is still at the previous owners place,outside Estacada (about an hour from my place). I'm hopefully going to that closed down former wrecking yard in a few minutes to get some bumperettes/brackets,some dash stuff,maybe a Datsun radio,& maybe a radiator. I ordered a set of "Datsun" rocker stripes off ebay last night. By the way rocket dog,it's good to see you post here,i haven't seen you on in awhile.

What do the hot wheels ones look like? I've been looking for one of them,&the wagon too,but no luck in my area.

I just bought a set of the "Datsun" rocker stripes (made for 510's ) off ebay. I'm going to use them on my 521. What do your " lil Hustler" ones look like,& how much were you selling them for?

I can't wait to see this with the body back on! This truck is so BADASS!! I wish I could afford to do any of these modifications to my 521 !

This set of springs are for my '72 521 project. I went back & got the shackles the other day,but they're pretty bent from someone useing them as tow hookup points when pulling the 720 4x4 from wherever it was stuck at. I don't know if they can be straightened or not. I found a set of bushings (both types ) for the 720 springs,will they work on the 521 conversion? As for using the 720 4x4 springs on my goon,that might happen sometime in the future,probably like Datzenmike suggested,but getting the 521 ready for daily driver status will have to happen first. I briefly owned a 620 , I had bought it for the engine & transmission ,but decided that it was in too good of shape to part out,so I sold it to a fellow Ratsuner. It rode very badly,& the brakes were almost worthless. I almost didn't buy another Datsun truck,because of how bad that one was,but saw my 521 & had to have it. Your 620 kc makes me want to buy another one! The gray Titan wheels look great,now that it's lowered ! I think if they if it were mine,I'd paint them gold,or bronze kind of like Subaru rims. Damn nice looking truck!
