  1. It feels like it wants to go.... but im to scared to get on it after the whole head gasket thing.... Does this happen to any of you when you work on stuff? And a picture of the ka
  2. called on the last one, hes gunna do a comp test for me tomororw, says he never got it to run and it has around 200k on it....
  3. trust me ive been looking, if its on cl ive thought about it already... not looking for you guys to spoon feed me lol
  4. ill go look at that truck, that 240 had a twin cam swapped in, the one for 150 scares me becasue of the turbo, you know its been raped on.. and the whole i THINK headgasket.... the one in marysville i emailed..no response yet.. i skipped over the last one, but i suppose if all i wanted was the rotating asembly the pig rich and stallling would be fixed with all my bolt ons and ecu? Pick in pull stuff scares me, they are in there for a reason, if its not totaled its most likely motor related
  5. I mean... cheaper the better obviously, but i dunno ive seen them going for anywhere from 150 to 400 for a used ka all the way up to 900 for a reman, let me know if you find something and how much! vancouver isnt that far of a drive!
  6. Snapped a rod in my ka, figure it would be just as expensive to replace it with a used motor, let me know if you have one laying around! Casey
  7. pulled the ka out of the 69 today.. snapped rod.. woohoo
  8. 2 liter bigger turbo not off to a good start..... i torqued from the inside out, in three stages ending with 61ft pounds... im thinking either over torqued somehow? or meybe under torqued? or faulty gasket? or? im not sure, but i have another one coming in at 4pm.... if the same thing happens.... i dunno yet
  9. currently im not, or at least didnt on the l16, i have an electric pump and a boost sensiive fpr i should install, just trying to make it all work first, i could go through 4 gears full pul/boost before i hit fuel cutout on the l16
  10. i know, its more precautionary then anything, its only a thin piece of sheet metal, it took a couple dings so i figured i mine as well do something to help it out a litte if somethin were to happen!
  11. Here ill try and help get back on topic! l20b, r1 carbs, and a bigger turbo then i had on the l16!
  12. well after coming inside to make the origanal post, i went back out and was staring in my engine bay stumped, walked over to my bench, spacing out and thinking.. i glance in a box that had some parts in it and it hit me... there in that stupid box was the oil pick up.. how i managed that i do not know, that was definately one of those you have got to be kidding me moments, i have no idea how i could have just skipped over taht.... to excited i guess
  13. It happens to the best of us lol Nope there was oil in there, good thing i didnt run it! I wish it were that easy lol i feel like a jackass
  14. Nevermind guys, posted to soon, got it fixed
  15. Just got done rebuilding my l20, new rings, pistons, bearings, valve seals, gaskets etc. i adjusted the valve lash, timing is set, but im getting zero oil pressure. pulled the pump off it was dry, put a known good one on (or at least it worked when i pulled my other motor) , this time filling it with oil... still not pumping. blew air back threw the pickup, heard oil bubling, blue air threw the other whole and heard air coming out somewhere above my head... Thoughts?
  16. I was out of town all weekend, just got back and pulled the valve cover off the 69, everything up there is still in tack, so now im thinking, flywheel/clutch came apart, or broken rod possibly....
  17. Super clean is awesome, does wonders lol
  18. One could hang open if one of the two bolts running through all 4 carbs is to tight, however that would be noticeable with the car just sittimg so I doubt its your problem
  19. on the bright side i think i succesfully rebuilt my first turbo yesterday, i guess we will see when i finally get this motor done!
  20. alright so my badluck with motors continues, ive been dailying the 69 and well it was great for awhile, probally have 600 miles on it since i got it, annnddd then today it went knock knock knock BOOM, pretty much without any warning, im 99% sure it was something timing chain related, it died as i came to a stop sign, got it to start again, making the worst noises possible moved ten feet enough for me to coast downhill to a parking lot and it died again, and will no longer turn over... i got it towed home and havent bothered looking yet... i leave in the morning for the weekend so ill tackle it next week i guess im trying to prepare mentally for the worst... so my question is... if the chain did snap, break, comeapart, etc, are the tolerances so tight i just bent every single valve in the head?
  21. Mann, ich wünschte, ich könnte sprechen Deutsch auch wiat egal ich kann! Nur ein Scherz, funktioniert google translate große
  22. Sweet! i had heard at one point that some z22 rods were weaker? i have no proof to back this up and dont remember where i heard it, is this false? Edit: i found a rod, hopefully itll be here shortly, however i completely spaced... my motor was fully balanced, is throwing a stock unbalanced rod in there going to mess it up?
  23. Not really, ka deal fell through, I'm rebuilding an l20 and its keeping the turbo setup just with a bigger turbo, not sure I want to sell it anymore, I mean anythings for sale for the rght price. But it should go pretty good with the semi built l20
