I have a few 5 speeds,but i have no idea as to their condition.I have a KA 5 speed that i know needs to be gone thru.

Yeah,i wasn't too thrilled either but 90% of 810s were autos.THe book lists a 4-speed option but i've never seen one.The trans is tight though.It's gonna be the wifes daily driver.Knowing her,she'll want me to do a stick conversion.

Picked up an 810 Wagon today.Owner claims 45 K,i say 145K(not that bad either)but after getting in and around it thuroughly,it is POSSIBLE that it is 45K. It has one issue-it floods out as soon as it warms up.As soon as i figure that out we she hows it reallt runs. Are there any interchangeable sheetmetal with 710's?And what else interchanges?

No,I do not like AMC's in"general".The 2-seater AMX was their best piece though and the best looking also.There is a AMX or Javelin for sale near me.1st generation and it's a stick car but with no motor or tranny.It would be a good buy for you AMC types.

Since you asked: AMC's in general were garbage.Sans the 2 seater AMX(and possibly the Scrambler),they made nothing,repeat NOTHING worth owning. More proof you ask? Gremlin-self explantory Pacer-Why design a fishbowl when guppies can't drive? Matador-So ugly, it could make a train take a dirt road.Stevie Wonder flinched when this car debuted. MORE proof? Production numbers. Look at how many Javelins,AMX's were made vs GTO's Chevelles,Camaro's, Firebirds,Mustangs.Torinos,Roadrunners,Chargers,GTX's,R/T's Just to name a few. Nobody wanted them. Even more proof: AMC went tits up during a"good" economy.

Alternative things that no-one bought.There was a reason for this. Unibody,just like front wheel drive exists because of one reason and one reason only-it's cheap to make.

There is more to this than just measuring.Consult a fabricator that does rack conversions for a living and find out how to measure for an ACCURATE fit. There is more involved than laying a "tape" across it and saying:Yeah-that'll fit. And if the guy doesn't mention "bump steer"-run away as fast as you can.

That's waht i found out.It would take a custom rack to fit.For what i'm doing with the truck,i couldn't justify the price.:(

A Z rack is too wide.As as MOST production racks.A Mustang II/Pinto rack is also too wide. BEWARE of Bump Steer.

I haven't seen one that nice even around here.

Borrow a MECHANICAL water temp guage and hook it in tandem and see what is what on your dash guage.

Check the guage with a known unit.
