Its the first auto Ive owned since I was 16 as well. My first two cars were manual and for the third it went to automatic... then something like the next 8 cars were all manual until this one. The ad didnt say it was an auto so after the trip all the way to pick it, I liked it enough to not worry about it immediately. With the point of this build, the auto doesnt ruin anything. I dont want to go fast and only need to go from A to B in style. Im never in a rush and with it being a daily I have no issues with the stop and go traffic. Im just always on cruise mode. My girlfriend cant drive stick as well as many others... so in case Im incapacitated in any way, I dont have to worry about somone not knowing how to drive my car or just grinding gears the whole way. If I were trying to build anything for speed and quickness, the auto would be the first thing to go. Im positive any future Datsuns will be manual or quickly changed after purchase. Talk to my main parts guy and he has a console. He needs to dig it out and then he will shoot me a couple pictures.

Im talking to a connection about a center console now. If I can snag a nice one, Ill go five speed after the winter probably.

In case anyone is keeping track, there are 6 non FS threads in 4 categories of discussion with a total of 49 threads. Out of those 6 threads one is a thank you for making them and one is a poll to bring back the old classifieds... So really there are only 4 threads since the creation of the discussion section.

So are automatics if you have the right parts haha which we did not... <_<

No I totally understand. Classy system changed and everyone freaked out because now there was no discussion ability. A bit down the road the decision was made to make a new section just for that... and it sits mostly empty and causes problems with people posting ads in there. I know it was suppose to be useful, but it doesnt really get used. So to stem further problems can it not just be deleted as it wasnt used like everyone complained they were going to?

No I totally feel you on organizational prowess... I have so many folders nested on my computer to keep things clean and organized, so Im with you. I just dont see the sections being used so much that we need individual categories. Since the change over there are like 50 threads in discussions with most being ads. Ill go through and count to actually get a real number. Edit: I just realized that there are no categories for discussion. All of the links under the Discussion header are all links to the classifieds section. Why? Thats incredibly confusing...

Thats not a Honda... Thats a newer Nissan wagon with a classic Hakosuka GTR front-end grafted on. Neither vehicle was available here. Thats the only known version of that car out there.

With so few discussions taking place, do we really need it seperated into the same exact categories that the FS section has? What if all of it was condensed into a single "Ratsun Classifieds Discussion." That should give people the option to talk about something if they want, should be equal weighted with the actual classified section since its only a single link.

And some pics... especially since youre local to me. You also appear to own the oldest Datsun on the site. Must be cool to own a 944 year old truck :poke: :rofl:

Luckily Adam hooked me up with a gear. Although I had the right one, we still ran into another issue and its the only reason this has take so long. Im 100% confident that when the next swap happens in either this one or another vehicle, it will go a lot faster.

To be honest, I think the discussion section can almost be removed. It was a good thought, but its barely even used... seems more threads are misplaced FS ads than genuine parts inquiries.

It looks really weird with MKIIIs. Its a Dodge... it should be on something billet. At least maybe some MKIs. Qtips neighbor has two demons at his place. They are beasts.

That makes a lot of sense... the way it looks, all the important sections are discussions and not the ads themselves. The ads are kind of hidden in all that bold and fancy text of discussions. I can see a lot of people posting ads there because it boldly says Ratsun Parts Classifieds.... then the last word is discussion. Ive actually never noticed that as I almost never go to the homepage... I just refresh "New Content" and click on "Classifieds" under the banner. Good tip on trying for some style clean-up :thumbup:

I will say one thing about spelling... it can make or break a web address. You didn't even spell your own URL correct in your first post. Hard for people to check out your projects if they cant even get to your website :poke:

If youre looking for a clean set of door mirrors, you cant go wrong with BMW flags.

Have you actually contacted the member selling the item? Many times the auctions list only local shipping, but if asked via pm they indeed ship. Ive gotten a few parts that way.
