That sounds like a crap-ton of work... Im not a fucking blacksmith. Ill just make sure the pieces are overall straight and maybe strip of my clothes the surface corrosion. I think I have a set of screws that should work for them. Now that I know where those little ones go, I can install them this weekend after a little clean up.

Hmmm gold would be nice. Im just curious on knocking out the dings and such... Im not too good with straightening metal like that, so I was curious what the preferred method was. So as it sits, im about $3000 away from a finished ride as I see it right now. I have my engine mapped out for what I want, a few accessories, and a stereo... so Im pretty close. After that we shall see where the car goes from there. Maybe something a little more wild. Anyway, other than some small things here and there, this might be a slower build now. Money is drying up quick and Im about to go to school so who knows when I will finish. My goal right now is Canby 2013. Car finished to stage one and ready to rock.

Im not talking about Hwy 1 right by the Bay Area.... Im not a Monk in a wagon. Im talking about going south through SLO and then hitting 1 to come through Malibu and the such. I could take 1 all the way until it turned into PCH through Redondo (my old stomping grounds), pick Jun up (hint hint Jun), and then jump back onto the 5. Edit: 28 is as good as I can expect? Hmmm could have sworn I should be seeing a bit more.

Google Maps says its about 2500 miles round trip from Silverdale to the Queen Mary. Its only about 2 hours longer to travel across the Golden Gate Bridge and down Hwy 1 instead of taking the 5 all the way down. With the crappy 28mpg Im currently getting and the price of gas in Silverdale, Im looking at about $380 in gas... Now Im sure I can get better milage on pure highway and if I give the car a bit of a tuneup, but its still going to be a bit expensive. I still think thats going to be cheaper than if I wanted to fly roundtrip and rent a car etc for when I wanted to visit my family. It may still be worth it.

I just got them off eBay for like $25 or something like that... They had a bunch so Im sure you could pick a set up. Im sure it wouldnt be as fun as stealing mine though.

Well, Ill start saving my change now for gas money.

I had the SSRs for awhile, but they were not ready to be put on the car yet. I needed tires, there was some rash, a crack in one lip, surface corrosion, and they were shittily rattle canned silver. I just put on 280zx complete front struts so my stock steelies would not clear... Since I already had 13" tires, I bought 13" Aeros to run until I could get the SSRs done. The Aeros are up for sale, but the plan is to use them as Winter rims so that the Seattle roads do not ruin them. Now... I was suppose to move to Seattle but since I'm not, the Aeros are up for sale. If I sell them I sell them, if I don't I don't. It really doesn't matter at this point. Thanks for the compliments guys. I'm still relatively new around here for a build thread so it's exciting when so many people like it. I appreciate it. I still have a bunch of work ahead of me to get this car where I want it though...

Ive thought about that... my girlfriend has never had In N Out and has never actually been to California, so I contemplated making a dive run down there, but she says 10hrs is a little far for hamburgers. Im still thinking of doing it though.

Yeah the stretch from Sacramento to Bakersfield is horrible... Then it's ok-ish, but really doesn't pick up until Pyramid Lake.

Yeah, JCCS is huge so its really something I want to attend.

Im making no promises that Ill be going, but Im going to be trying litterally as hard as I can to get there. The car should make it no problem, but I have to make sure I can get off work for a week and I have gas money.

I was fairly certain that there was one in Red Bluff... I had this conversation with another Californian friend I worked with us up and I thought we looked it up. I always thought it was in Redding, but I thought I was proven wrong. Oh well, either way I want In N Out.

We should totally hook up and make the trip down there. If we take the five the whole way down, my only rule is to stop in Red Bluff to eat In and Out (most northern one).
