  1. Yes, I like to call it the "Auto Magic" transmission. Lol there have been some pretty serious trolls on the forum before. JRock and I aren't even close to as bad as some of the older ones. Forum trolls will never die. Inevitably, someone always feeds the trolls so they will never disappear. Just went through our stash of screws and there's nothing that threads in. I can either drill out the wholes larger or run to Home Depot and get taper ended screws instead of the bolt ended. I think I'm just going to get new screws. Easier.
  2. Yeah you're right... Brushed will be perfect the more I think about it. I'm going to see what I can scrounge up at work for bolts. We have like every kind made so I'm sure I can find something perfect; clean and low profile.
  3. Hmmm I guess you're right the more I think about it. Brushed it is!- double win because it's less work and less money to keep them silver. Now I'll just find the screws in the morning to make them secure. Tomorrow I'll be doing a few projects on the car: Installing sill screws Installing weather stripping Radio delete Maybe painting the trim back on my grille and tail lights And a good detailing The clean won't really make it look any better, but I'd like to get he sludge and dirt out of all the corners and such.
  4. Well I figure all the dash is a wrinkly black, eventually my valve cover will be wrinkle black, and I'm going to herculiner the trunk. It would all match... I am digging the way brushed looks though. I'll probably rock it for a bit until I decide more. I just need to find the screws for these... I think I have them in a box, but not sure.
  5. Lol I was doing this way before the Navy... People always give Submariners shit for being gay, but even most of them thought it was a little weird. I don't know whats the big deal, they are made out of the same material as men's jeans, just cut differently. Now back to car stuff... Here are the sill plates installed. Still debating if I want to stick with brushed silver or run wrinkle black. And one just because:
  6. Ah hahaha see I knew you guys would like that. I prefer the cut over men's jeans, that's why I buy them. Maybe once a year or once every other year I try a pair of men's jeans on... I hate it every time. And obviously it's not a big deal Goon since we've hung out many times and you never even noticed. It's not like I wear ones with sequins or butterflies stitched into them.
  7. I miss the days were that shit was free. I took it in school as a free class... Only worthwhile part was watching Red Asphalt. Then I took like two days of behind the wheel training and got my license at 15. I think it cost me all of $100 for behind the wheel training... The class before me was the last year the offered it free in school.
  8. If you guys are talking about my profile pic, it's a light and airy plaid shirt. Plaid is a pattern and flannel is a type of material. You guys really suck a fashion. I had to correct you on pant cuts and now this. *sigh* I won't jump on the "I hate Jalen" bandwagon, but I will be interested to see if this car gets posted on Stance Nation under your brothers handle. I'll wait and reserve my mean spirited comments until there's more concrete evidence... It's pretty stacked against you right now though Jalen. The situation is like me complaining about no money to ship peoples items, but then I go out and buy an SR swap for Minty. Something just doesn't add up... But like I said, I'll wait a little bit to see what happens.
  9. It's true Jrock is constantly editing his own posts. It drives me crazy. And just do you know Jon, you can edit your posts in mobile. You just click the body of your post and it expands to show a button to edit. Just so you know. You can never hang out with sexy 14yr old girls enough. I'm a fucking veritable Mac daddy with those chicks... I just jingle my keys and tell them I can drive them to Forever 21 in the mall and I'm in. Im goin to fuel the fire a bit here, but figured I should throw it out there. You guys shouldnt be making fun of me for wearing tight pants. You should be making fun of me for wear tight girl pants. Excluding Navy uniforms and dress clothes, I havent owned a pair of mens pants since maybe 1999-2000.
  10. I don't wear flannel <_< I'm not a lesbian lumberjack living in Portland.
  11. Lol I never screwed over Doug... And I paid more than $20 for them. What happened to your other hubcaps?
  12. I never had any problems with Doug. He gave me a set of hubcaps one day while I was at his place. I only had like $20 on me so I owed him. And that same trip he broke my ignition system... Took us like 5hrs to figure it out. Part of the troubleshooting was switching out distributors. When I left his place, I was running his and he had mine. So we needed to swap back. Doug and I have always been cool. Though most of the time I go over there it's for the Roach Coach burritos and to see his dog Zippy.
  13. Dang... you werent kidding when you said you were getting some work done. I saw most of the text updates in my email, but none of the pictures. Looks like youre headed in the right direction. Not too much longer now! Remember, just let me know if you need help wheeling the 240 around. Wouldnt want it to roll out of your driveway and down the street...
  14. Ill take one. Ill PayPal you in the morning when I get off work. Just so youre prepared: (1) Lime in medium
  15. I think when youre done working on the car, you should leave the fender flares taped on like that... would be epic. Youve done enough welding everywhere else; time for some speed tape!
  16. Gah... double post like an idiot. I leave Ratsun for a week and a half and all of a sudden I forget how to work the buttons.
  17. Lol thats way old news... way to bring that back up. I find them more comfortable than loose jeans. And if you know anything about jean cuts, I dont wear "skinny jeans." Skinny jeans is a style similar to tights wear the hem of the pant legs are tight against your ankles. All my pants are pretty tight, but loose around the ankle. So tight, but either straight leg or boot cut. Sweet! That makes it easy. I was hoping I wouldnt have to buy it online.
  18. No worries... I laughed as well. I thought it was funny and well deserved. At least I had the 3M part right. That kind of stuff I figured they would make. I'll look into it and see what I can pick up. Hopefully its not stupid expensive and doesn't come only in gallon jars. Yeah, I didn't do so hot the first time I tried to do the seals, so I'm going to go a little slower this time. Find a different larger job to work on and in between do the seals. I'm looking at a fuel cell specifically for increased capacity and increased trunk space. I'm going to about twice the size tank and couch mount it. I don't need crazy fuel demands, I just want more than 10 gal.
  19. That's true. I completely forgot about the fuel bladders... Thanks for the memory jog hacked.
  20. So there may be a deal local for a fuel cell in the size and capacity I want, but its the plastic version and not aluminum. Whats everyones thought on plastic?
  21. Its a bit late on the topic, but I had a question about the award you got from Canby. Was it overall 1st?- as in better than every other car? Or was it sectioned out by model?- so best 610...
  22. Im hoping its really good quality. Grip Royale has a bit of a following lately, but Ive seen horror videos of steering wheels so Im hoping it works out. I cant really test it out until its bolted to the steering column, but it feels pretty sturdy in my hands. I got the pink/purple flake to tie into the neo-chrome lugs as well as if I decide to buy a hub then Ill probably be picking up the black/neo-chrome NRG model. Coordinating accessories like a boss.
  23. Yeah, thats one of my options... I just havent gotten around to removing my stock steering wheel to take any measurements. There is plenty of "scrap" in the shop I could use. Maybe Ill take the wheel to work tonight and see what I come up with.
  24. So since I havent been in here for a while and you were crying about it I figured I should come in here and see whats what. There might be some hate, might be some love; who the fuck knows. Question #1... in order to have a blog, dont you have to do work? People want to read that you do things. Plus no one cares what you have to say. Question #2... how do you have so much to say about your car that you require not 1, but 2 different blogs. Theres no way you can post that much useful stuff. I would stick with doing work on the car and not much on using your LiveJournal blogs to tell everyone that you have a feel. Man, if thats the case I need to get a mini truck. Why do you think I live so close to a high school?! Matthew Mcconaughey said it best: "That's what I love about these high school girls, man. I get older, they stay the same age." Im glad Ive been gone for a bit Jalen and your build is in the same exact spot when I left... it makes it easy to keep up.
