glhs399
Hey everyone, I have been slowly acquiring parts for a engine build for my 71 1200. I still am in need of a short block. What is everyone's take on A14 vs A15? Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
There's no replacement for displacement..... Carol Shelby. Still true today. Quote Link to comment
fivetenguy
I have an A14 from a GX that needs to be rebuilt. You can have for free. It's going to the scrap yard soon. I got it for free. Like you, I was planning on rebuilding it and put it in my 1200, but decided to keep my stock a12 since it's running well. 1 Quote Link to comment
Stoffregen Motorsports
The A14 was actually a better motor. Big bore and short stroke. Revved higher. Quote Link to comment

I might of found something more local. If that does not pan out I will be in touch! 1 vote for a A14 and 1 vote for the A15.... 🍿 3 Quote Link to comment

Also, while many A15s are ~80hp there is a MPG which is 67hp. This is 70-80s Japanese horsepower too..... they use smaller horses 🤣 The A14 in a 1200 (I've had several setup like this) will get it going pretty well. Edit: checked the old thread and I've seen that car at Canby years ago. Edited April 14 by Dguy210 1 Quote Link to comment
