datzenmike
Try the fuse. Hold a quarter across the fuse contacts briefly. If they come on replace the fuse. Never trust a fuse by looking at them. Curious if the wiper stopped in the middle of the glass or did it park the blades??? Quote Link to comment
nathan.is.an.idiot12312
funny thing is they didnt just stop working, they were working and for a while i wasnt using them and i went to flip em on one morning and they did nothing Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Maybe stalled? Is the linkage free to move? Try turning the wiper switch on and off a few dozen times to clean the contacts. The grease gets old and thick. Quote Link to comment
nathan.is.an.idiot12312
i have flipped the switch up and down repeatedly in a fast fashion and nothing happens, what do you man by "is the linkage free to move?" do you mean turning the wipers by hand? nope cant move them by hand. datzenmike
The linkage that turns the wiper arms. Motor at one end and wipers on the other. Quote Link to comment
nathan.is.an.idiot12312
yep they do not move by hand Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
First try the quarter across the fuse contacts like I said in earlier post. If they come on then the fuse is bad. Well you should be able to wiggle them slightly. They won't move more than that because the motor is geared. Turn on and watch for the motor to hum or strain to turn. Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
wiggle soem wires around the fuse box and the wiper motor Quote Link to comment
bananahamuck
If you unhook arms from motor,, do arms move freely ? Quote Link to comment

nathan.is.an.idiot12312
doing an amperage test see if theres a solid reason why it blew or if it was just old Quote Link to comment

banzai510(hainz)
I use a live 22 CCI stinger round for my shorting wire. clean the connections then it wont draw as much amps if it has corrossion. from fuse box to the wiper. ect..... 1 Quote Link to comment

nathan.is.an.idiot12312
okay so yesterday my horn button stopped working, and i went to check my fuses and the fuse that is marked for taillights was blown. i thought “thats weird nobody has mentioned or said anything about my taillights” and checked to see if they turned on when i pressed the brake, and they work just fine, but its just really peculiar that the fuse that is marked as the taillight fuse blew but made my horn stop working, also im using my horn button as a starter button because my ignition switch is bad and its not worth my time or money to invest in a new switch at the moment so i figure thats why it blew but still very peculiar that my blower motor fuse blew, and shortly after i jump it my supposed taillight fuse blows which is apparently the horn fuse. am i drawing too much amperage to my fuse box, and thats why the wiper fuse blew, and then my horn button fuse blew right after? or is it because the wiper motor fuse was just old and i have my horn button hooked up to the starter? datzenmike
Tail lights and brake lights are two very different things on two different fuses. Turn headlights on and go look. Quote Link to comment
