R160 Diff in Triumph Spitfire

Recommended Posts

I apologize if this question has been posted before. I’m installing an R160 diff into my Triumph. The diff is a3.54 ratio, out of a WRX. Because of the rear suspension design of my car, I have to use 510 stub axles with the “through bolt and cookie design”. I want to install a clutch type LSD unit in the diff.
my question is, who sells a clutch type Limited slip unit for an R160 that will allow for the installation of the 510 stub axles?

thanks in advance!

I guess Quaife does make R160  units, but I'm pretty sure they will not work with stock Datsun axles.

Look for the older Subaru R160 LSD with the bolt in stubs.  These would be from ~1985-89.

What he said. Subaru did. If you have any junkyards nearby with older (80s) Subrarus, it's worth a look. They often had foil tags on them denoting whether it is a CLSD or VLSD and the ratio. Best to avoid the VLSD, though.
