310 transmission.

I picked up a 310 front wheel drive transmission, are they worth anything?

Also picked up a a14 with it, are they worth anything?

Fwd not worth what a rwd 5 speed would be worth. A14 may have some value depending on condition. Nothing crazy though.

Lol no! I bought that and a A14 motor, told it was a j16. I got a great deal and figured I could turn them

Will an A series fit the J13 transmission? I wonder.

I done some research and some say yes, the motor mounts are totally different and too much mods.

A series have 5 main bearings vs. 3 on the J. Live forever.

The A14 is valuable as a race motor. It was the largest bore of any short deck A motor.

 

When I say valuable, I mean a few hundred bucks.

What can you do to make hp?

I think when the bill is totaled an engine swap is the ticket. The 520 has a very small engine compartment so if engine swapping, a 4 cylinder.

 

There were J15s and J16 (used elsewhere in the world and and a J18 was made in Mexico.

A motors don't have a lot of bolt on performance items available. You can re-curve the distributor and install a Weber DGV for a couple ponies, and a larger exhaust too (2" seems to work well on A motors), but aside form that, you'll need to tear into the inside to make any real HP.

 

If you can find one of the Nissan Motorsports headers, those work great, but they stopped making them so long ago. Hard to find, and probably all rusted by now anyway.
