Datsunworks
1979 620 but the same rod fits multiple years and models. I can only seem to locate the right outer tie rod assembly. Lefts seem to have dried up. Anyone have a source for new lefts? Short of that I saw in another post that the difference between right and left is the clocking. There are right sides available that are adjustable so I'm wondering if I can achieve the proper clocking since it's adjustable. Thanks Derek Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Both tie rods have a very slight bend near the inner ball joint. The right is a mirror image of the left so not identical, like right and left hands.... but I bet you could run two rights. 1 Quote Link to comment
thisismatt
I would expect nothing less than for Nissan to make things as cheaply as possible. If they are different, instead of using the same part on both sides, there's probably a good reason. Maybe bind at full lock? I don't know, but refer to first sentence 😅 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Absolutely true. I might try this I don't mean you should. Quote Link to comment
Crashtd420
I actually did try it but not on purpose and it does not work... My packages said left and right but I had 2 lefts in the boxes.... I took me a minute to figure out what was going on.... Quote Link to comment
Crashtd420
Try ebay.... https://www.ebay.com/itm/225048875142?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=xTJxtu34TDq&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=2B08jY5FRkS&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY Quote Link to comment

I was thinking more along the lines of this Delphi unit that is adjustable. Since it's adjustable the clocking will sort itself out. Quote Link to comment

The one thing I learned about datsuns is dont trust what you are told by the parts sellers... They like to lump the older trucks together, so that could be for a 720... doesn't mean that one won't work but I'd be cautious.... maybe cross reference the part number a bit further.... datzenmike
If the one pictured is from a 720 it probably won't fit for length. The idler arm and pitman arm on the 620 are inside the frame rails, the 720 on the outside, so the 720 rods are shorter and may not adjust out that long. Quote Link to comment

They would never lie 🙂 I found multiple listings for that tie rod fitting a 620 but they were all suspiciously the same pictures and wording. I'm thinking the safest bet is to order the ones Crashtd420 linked to and cal it a day. Thanks for the help. 1 Quote Link to comment

That 777 brand is supposed to be pretty good too, if I remember correctly..... 1 Quote Link to comment
