ney
Hi, I have a 1971 datsun 521, that keeps flooring cylinder #3. it had a after market carburetor (cheap one $75) and ran good for a few years. I left it parked 6 months and now runs really rough. I replaced fuel filter, cleaned the carburetor and I noticed that cylinder #3 flooded, luckily I found an original one, I cleaned it really good and I had the same result. I checked the flood and it seams to be working properly, it only takes a few seconds to flood the same cylinder. Can two carburetors have the same problem? or there is something else wrong. I need some help 😞 😞 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Maybe spark plug not firing? Gas just keeps collecting. 1 Quote Link to comment
Stoffregen Motorsports
Are you sure it's not oil fouling? Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
this what I would do. make sure cyl 3 has spark or a new plug there. make sure the rocker arms are set correct.Valve lash maybe a hole in the piston? Those it seem to run OK for a little bit like on all 4 before it floods/fouls out?If hole in piston plug with be soaked with oil. dos oil look or smell like gas?
