Troy Down Under
Looking to replace my swaybar bushes on my 411. Mine are shot. Anyone got any links to replacements? I recall reading something that 510 bushes may be the same. Can anyone shed any light on this? Superpro list a range of bushes for the 510. https://superpro.com.au/find/superpro-suspension-parts-and-poly-bushings-for-nissan-datsun-1600-1968-1972-p510-/cid-999500716 I'm in Australia. Thanks in advance. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
The only thing I would use a poly bushing on is the sway bar links. Absolutely nothing wrong with rubber ones though, and probably a hell of a lot cheaper. Quote Link to comment
MikeRL411
I used poly bushings on my RL411 many years ago. They work just fine! Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Yes they do but for most other suspension parts I find they are too stiff an non compliant. Rubber grips both moving parts and flexes internally, poly will chafe, squeak and wear. Rubber is far superior for vibration isolation. Quote Link to comment
Troy Down Under
So where can I get rubber ones? Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
I said the only place I would use poly is on the sway bar. Quote Link to comment
Greaser2
Correct 411 are hard to find and only come in rubber. I use Z car rubber or poly but need some trimming. I'm sure 510 will work but figure will also need trimming. Quote Link to comment

That is the subject of this posting after all. Quote Link to comment
jfbrink
Troy, When I replaced mine on my 411 sedan, about 8 years ago, I could not find end or center bushings that would work. So, I did the following: -End bushings: Cast my own using castable urethane with a softener to get the hardness down to about 70A -Center/locator bushings: The same. This was a tricky mold to make. -Links: I found a generic link kit with bolts, spacers, washers and bushings by measuring the stock ones and scrolling through an aftermarket car parts website; they fit perfectly. They were still holding up perfectly when I sold the car last year. The entire process took a few days and taught me urethane casting, which I've used many times since. Jesse. Quote Link to comment
