80_200bwags
G'day, I bought a reground L series cam a while ago, supposedly a mild rally cam that was ran with su carbs back in the day. Its called a ce953, and I haven't been able to find any evidence of it even existing on the internet. Does anyone know anything about it? Manufacturer? Specs? Thanks in advance. datzenmike
Is there any other information scribed on the back end of the cam? Often the duration is marked but not always. You should be able to figure out the lift by measuring the width across the highest point on the lobe and subtract the base circle off the lobe and multiply by 1.5 for the valve lift. For example the L20B lift is 0.413" Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
I would get on a a Aussie site to find that one. I think Crow was a big regrinder down under https://crowcams.com.au/search/camshaft?c_association[1]=38&c_association[2]=39&c_association[3]=7&c_association[4]=192 Edited June 9, 2023 by banzai510(hainz) Quote Link to comment
Stoffregen Motorsports
Old engine builders don't use the internet. You're going to have to pick up the phone and call around until you find someone with old Datsun cam knowledge. Sounds like a Nissan Motorsports cam. Maybe even older, Datsun Comp. 80_200bwags
Interesting. Thanks. The seller gave me some specs from his memory, and he said its meant to be 8.6mm lift or so, and 274 degrees duration. Not much lift compared to other mild cams, and I was wondering if its measured at the cam lobe, whereas others may be measured at the valve? It probably just doesn't have much lift. The base circle doesn't look like its been cut much, but some has been taken off the top of the lobes definitely. Was probably on an L18 or smaller. 1 Quote Link to comment
