BilI_in_Corvallis
Where do I buy a rebuild kit for a Clutch Master cylinder on a 1969 Datsun L521 1300? Bill in Oregon Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Kits are rare to find these days. Try any auto supply store. The part number for the master is 30610-21410 if that helps. You might have better luck just buying a rebuilt / remanufactured one or a cheap Chinese knock off. The 520 uses a 5/8" diameter clutch master but so does the 521, 510, 610, 710 620 and probably a lot more. The biggest difference is the outlet location. On the 520 it's front top, on the 521 it's on the left side. Most are on the left side although some 510s are front top. Should be easy enough to move the line to the side. Quote Link to comment
Stoffregen Motorsports
If you're intent on keeping the original cylinder, try using the internal components from the aftermarket cylinder in your old one. 1 Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
see if a 521 master will fit. as they are all SAE threads on 521s and earlier Datsuns (brakes Body bolts all SAE) till the 620 then was metric on motor and body Quote Link to comment
BilI_in_Corvallis
Thank you everyone for your input. I took the guts out of a clutch master I'd bought two years ago as back up. It was Dorman via eBay, made in Israel. The output was not machined correctly. The threads were correct but did not allow the flare to bottom out. Bill in Oregon Quote Link to comment
Stoffregen Motorsports
You can make a spacer out of a rivet head or soft aluminum washer. Just jam it in there and tighten the nut until it squishes into shape. On 6/1/2023 at 9:40 AM, BilI_in_Corvallis said: Thank you everyone for your input.
