620 body swap

Greetings.

Anybody swap a full body of a 620 onto a newer chassis?

The 620 will fit the 720 frame. Short wheelbase to short wheelbase. Long wheelbase (long box) to long wheelbase. KC to KC though you can swap a KC onto a long wheelbase (long bed) by cutting the L&R front bed mounts off.

Guys here have done it. I can't think of any specific thread, so maybe try the search button.

I'm doing a 620KC onto a 720 long. Only the front box mounts need to be relocated and a little nip off the frame tails, otherwise it all fits. One thing that is different and to be aware of is the location of the steering box - the 720 mounts to the other side of the frame rail, so a small fender massage is required.

Yeah mine was a '78 KC forgot to mention. I moved the two front bed mounts but as it was a flat bed it didn't really need this. Put the 620 steering column in to begin with then a 720 column with 280zx PS box, then D21 PS box on outside of frame when I went to Toyota 4x4 solid front end.

I assume the D21 frame is also pretty much spot-on for the 720 frame, so effectively there is that option as well.

That I don't know. The 720 is a larger truck than the 620 and the D21 larger still. If the frame rails are the same distance appart then it might be the same cab and box mounts. Maybe...
