frankendat
Good Evening Ratsuners! In the picture is a 5W71C transmission out of a 2wd truck. From the photo is it possible to determine if this transmission attaches to a Z24i, a KA24E, a KA24DE or a V6? Thank you Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
The Z series engines and the KA series have the exact same engine to transmission bolt pattern and orientation. So in the picture above it will fit the Z24i the KA24E and the KA24DE. Won't fit the VG30 series engines. 1 Quote Link to comment

Although I am fairly certain of the answer, it is my understanding that the 71C transmission in the picture, that originally was included in a 2wd Nissan truck, now confirmed attached to a 4 cylinder engine, will be compatible, with minor modification, for use in a 4wd 1984/1985 4wd 720 with a Z24i and a divorced transfer case. For my peace of mind. Quote Link to comment
bottomwatcher
Since you are showing "Trans porn" here is a shot of what you are looking for. The only difference I see is my tranny still has the stick. We are talking transmissions here 1 Quote Link to comment

I think ]2eDeYe's transmission mount will be needed and as I have never measured the length of the 2wd D21 71C (around 30"?) the primary driveshaft probably will need to be lengthened if you have the long 71B or perhaps shortened if you have the shorty 71B. 1 Quote Link to comment
bottomwatcher
Transmission mount adapter is simple piece of plate with identical thickness spacers between frame and trans crossmember to get a net zero change in rear trans height. Quote Link to comment
frankendat
Did you fab one up or purchase the one that other Ratsuner produces? Quote Link to comment

I would hate to get this far and forced to buy an super double rare shifter only sold to "worthy" individuals during a full moon on the leap year. Quote Link to comment
